STARS IN THEIR EYES: CELEBRITY SPECIAL

It’s the turn of the celebs to have stars in their eyes, with a new line up of six superstars learning melodies instead of lines on an all new Celebrity Stars in Their Eyes on ITV1.

CAT DEELEY hosts another incredible line up and making her entrance through the doors tonight is Big Brother’s boldest personality JADE GOODY.  Jade swapped her usual verbal gaffes for an eloquent tune when she performed as country legend Lynn Anderson.  “I think that people are too scared to say that I have got a bad voice!” boasted Jade.  “I’m looking forward to the transformation; walking in as Jade and walking out as who I am going to be.  I have actually forgotten her name so there is no chance of me letting that one out!”

“It is going to be the most nerve-wracking thing that I have ever done!”  Jade continued.  “But if it goes well watch out, because I will be hitting the Top 10 charts!”

BEN RICHARDS who plays Bruno Milligan in ITV’s Footballers Wives braves those musical doors as Latino heartthrob Ricky Martin.

Musically-minded Ben admits to having had melodic roles in the past.  The actor said “I have appeared in Saturday Night Fever, The Full Monty and Grease in the West End.  Hopefully this will stand me in good stead for the show; hopefully I won’t be as nervous!”

NEIL FOX is the next celeb to attempt to fill a singing sensation’s shoes as Rat Pack member Dean Martin.

“Everyone who is watching the show has probably watched ITV’s Pop Idol as well and they know that obviously as a judge on Pop Idol I was criticizing other singers.  So I am opening myself up” admitted Foxy.
 
“I think Stars in Their Eyes is one of those shows that everyone sort of wants to do.  I feel a mixture of absolute excitement and nerves, of course at the same time, but I kind of can’t wait in a way.  It is going to be a really good experience.”

One time Queen of the US Soaps CHARLENE TILTON, from Dallas, swapped padded shoulders for a padded bra when she took to the stage as Queen of Pop Madonna.

“Every one of you out there watching has sat in front of your mirror, using your hairbrush as a microphone.  We are just doing it on television!” Charlene teased.  “I’m just going to go and maybe make a little bit of a fool of myself, but it won’t be the first time and it won’t be the last either!”

Lastly, England rugby hero MARTIN OFFIAH lifts the audience with his portrayal of Tundai Bayo, front man of The Lighthouse Family. 

“I’ve always been passionate about music” said Martin.  “The appeal to doing the show is just basically to see if I could sing or not?  No doubt the audience will be finding out soon!”

“As we get closer to the D-Day and I come through that smoke then I suppose I will be very scared, but if I can actually pull it off then it will be something that I think I will actually be proud of; to be on a show which is  a bit of an institution in this country really!”
