Message from Charlene Tilton
Official Statement
To my beloved fans that I cherish so much.
Let me first say that I became aware of the fictitious interview in OK!UK Magazine July 31st. It is quite unnerving to learn that such a destructive instrument was published without my knowledge and consent, could reach such great proportions.
The interview in OK! Magazine dated August 1st 2006 with the headline Charlene Tilton: I Fell into a Black Hole.” This interview is a complete fabrication and never took place. The fictitious and derogatory statements printed in the interview was purchased through another foreign publication without scrutiny and was an attempt by OK! Magazine to agitate the fan base and create a cast frenzy that would initiate a feud between the cast members of Dallas that would snow ball into the sale of future issues of the magazine in which they alone would capitalize. Furthermore, I want to assure my fellow cast members as well as those faithful fans of Dallas that I have taken all legal means to repudiate the interview in OK! Magazine with the truth.
I am sickened and deeply hurt at the irresponsibility of OK! Magazine for publishing this fictitious interview without verifying its authenticity and accounting for its validity. This publication printed many insensitive and
hurtful statements that had no basis of merit.
Many of the answers that were erroneously stated criticizing other cast members and especially referring to the health of my mother, which lead you to believe that she had fully recovered from her illness. As most of you know, she had passed on four years ago. The printed question and response was emotionally painful and gut wrenching.
As fans of Dallas I want all of you to know that I have the utmost respect and affection for Larry, Patrick, Barbara, Jim, Steve, Ken and especially Victoria, they have been my friends, mentors and family during and after the run of the series.
I want to especially thank those who visit this website and have voiced their support for me as well as their criticism of the interview.
With all my love,
Charlene Tilton
