Southfork Ranch

Dean lay on the bed at Southfork, he had certainly worked up a sweat with the morning's  activities and with the walk back in the midday heat he had crashed out the minute his head hit the pillow. Waking now from his afternoon nap he slowly stood up and in his just his boxer shorts he stood on the balcony looking out over the ranch.  He felt pretty satisfied with where he was at and if he could just sort out his money troubled he could certainly get to use life on Southfork ranch as Mr Lucy Ewing.  He walked back into the room and switched on the  TV as he prepared to go run a shower.  As the TV sprung to life the face of a local news  presenter appeared.

“At this time the death and injury count is unknown.  Emergency services are still desperately trying to evacuate people still trapped inside the building.  In a recent  development a mystery middle eastern group have just been reported as claiming  that they are responsible for the bomb blast that has torn throughout the City hall here in Dallas and jeopardised the lives of many local oil men and politicians.”

Dean froze as the words of the news cast registered with him, he stared in horror at the TV as scenes live form the city hall were flashed on the screen.

“No,” he shouted as he kicked the TV of the stand with his bare feet shedding glass all over the floor. No way was this happening not now not after everything he had gone through. Suddenly there was a knock at the door and Miss Ellie walked in.

“Dean, whatever the matter I heard the commotion from my room, is everything alright here.”

Miss Ellie looked at Dean trying to avoid his near naked appearance.  Dean stared at the old women for a moment and then slowly he let the anger from his face change to one of anguish.

“Miss Ellie I have some terrible news, there has been a bomb blast at the conference.  We need to get down there now.”

“Oh dear God no.” Ellie mumbled as her legs buckled.  Dean caught her fall and held for a moment until she regained her balance and her composure.

“Lets go, we need to know what's happening,” Ellie said and the pair rushed out the room.

The Conference Building

Sue Ellen and JR sat in silence, both holding tightly onto each other, not wanting to let go.  Sue Ellen started to laugh.

“What's so funny?” JR asked

“All these years I have only wanted to be with you and it take this to happen for you to realise that you want me too,” she said

“I realised that before this happened, the thought of you walking out of my life for good made me feel sick. I need no, I want you in my life, I want to make up for all the bad things that happened between us. From this moment on it's going to be you and me against the world.  Nothing is going to part us, I promise no more women, beside none of them really match up to you anyway,” he said

Sue Ellen kissed him on the cheek “I have to admit I'm still tempted by Washington, I feel that I need to get away, there's too many ghosts here”

“Sue Ellen, please I'm begging you, don't leave me!” JR said

Sue Ellen looked at him; she knew in her heart that she couldn't really leave him. As tempting as Washington was, she knew her love for JR was stronger.  Perhaps if JR had finally realised what they could have together, things would be different.

"JR, I love you, I'm not going to leave you, but I think we need a change of scenery for a while” She replied.

JR was silent, perhaps they did need to get away from Dallas and spend some time on their own.  There was still so much to sort out in their lives, but there was their grandchild and Ewing Oil to consider.  JR realised he was putting things before Sue Ellen again, she was the most important thing in his live, yes he wanted them to bring up their grandchild, it would give them a chance of being a proper family, but Ewing Oil was going to be pushed into the background. Ewing Oil was only a business, which he had wanted to pass on to John Ross, but Sue Ellen meant more to him. Without her life wouldn't have much purpose.  He knew that she loved him and he needed her love so much. From this moment on things would be different, he would move heaven and earth to prove to Sue Ellen how much he loved her.

“Okay, JR what are you thinking?” Sue Ellen asked

JR looked deep into her eyes as he answered her “Sue Ellen, I love you, I want youin my life for the rest of time and I'm not saying that because we're stuck in here”

“You're the only thing I've ever really wanted, but I think we need to get away and be  alone to see if we can do this.”

“Well, how about after we get out of here, we take a trip somewhere, just the two of us” JR said

“Just the two of us, without any thoughts of Ewing Oil or our grandchild?” she said

“If that what it takes to convince you that I'm serious about us, then yes I promise, it will just be the two of us, however when we get back, I want to try and get our grandchild” he replied

“Will you still feel the same if the baby is a girl?” she asked

JR thought for a moment “Yes” he said “We weren't the perfect parents for ourson, but we could be the perfect grandparents for our grandchild, whether it's a girl or a boy” he said

“And how about Ewing Oil, will that still be more important to you than your family?” Sue Ellen asked

“Ewing Oil doesn't feel that important anymore, I've spent my whole life thinking about how to make the company better and making my father proud of me and not caring about the one person who could give me unconditional love, we've wastedso much time and I'm not prepared to put Ewing Oil before you again.” He said

“That's all I ever wanted to hear.”  Sue Ellen arched an eyebrow at JR and thenmurmured in a husky playful voice “JR, is this a happy ending?”

“It could well be” JR replied, “Well I'll be dammed” JR chuckled.

Sue Ellen pulled his face closer and kissed him passionately on the lips.

JR lost himself in her embrace, finally feeling at peace with himself.  Sue Ellen loved him nothing else mattered.  The two clung to each other both praying that they would soon be released from this crumbling building.

Conference Building's Corridor

Bobby gingerly made his way through the rumble surrounding the floor of the building. Everything seemed dark; he could barely make out what was in front of him. Every now and again he called out in hope that someone would hear him and answer  but silence returned his call. He knew that the others had to be somewhere and that he needed to find them.  He wasn't sure how much longer this building would remain standing so time was of the essence.

Donna still lay quietly in the darkness, she felt hope was slipping away from her, if they weren't rescued soon, then Ray would definitely not make it.

He was extremely weak at this point and also very cold. She cuddled up closer to Ray, he was still breathing although he was unconscious.  Ray was an Ewing and the Ewings were fighters, they didn't give anything up easily, and she hoped Ray was strong enough to fight for his life.  Suddenly she heard someone  shouting and realised it was Bobby, she screamed for help with all her might.  Maybe help was finally coming.

Outside the Conference Building

Outside Lucy and Mavis waited for the return of Bobby. Both were worried about him, knowing that the building was no longer secure. They watched as the Emergency Services started to enter the building, at least Bobby was no longer on his own.  However, how much time was there before the building collapsed, and the people trapped inside it lost forever. One of the Paramedics suggested that they might be more comfortable waiting inside the ambulance. Lucy looked at Mavis and told her to go with the paramedics but she wanted to stay here until Bobby came out.

“Lucy, Bobby is going to be fine, it's starting to get cold out here, please come and wait in the ambulance with me” Mavis said

“I can't” Lucy replied, “I have to wait here”

“Lucy, you will only be a few yards away, Bobby will see you when he comes out and he's going to be coming out, trust me” Mavis said

Lucy looked at the paramedic.  She was tired and cold. Slowly she began to walk over to the ambulance, and then looked back towards the building before entering the vehicle.

Another Part of the Conference Building

Hours had passed since the explosion and JR and Sue Ellen were still trapped. They both desperately wanted to get out alive, they had a lot of things they wanted to dotogether.

“Sue Ellen, when we get out of here, will you marry me?” JR asked

Sue Ellen looked shocked, had JR just said what she thought he had said, was he serious.

“Hang on a minute JR, we need to take things slowly, I don't want to make a mistakeagain,” She answered

JR for a moment felt rejection and Sue Ellen saw that in his eyes.

“Look, I'm not saying that I don't want to marry you, it's just I want us to make sure that its what we both want” she said

“It's what I want,” JR said

“Yes, I know at this moment in time, but what about a few months down the line, you might have changed your mind” Sue Ellen said “I want you to be 100% sure thatthis relationship is what you want”

“You don't trust me do you” JR asked

“It's not that, I just been down this road so many times in our relationship, the feelingof happiness at having you finally love me, only to have you cheat on me again and ruining our relationship, I don't want that anymore, but that doesn't mean that I don't want you” she said.

JR went silent, he understood why she was hesitant, but this time he was sure of what he wanted.  He had lost his son; he would never do anything to lose her again.

“We've missed out on a lot, haven't we” He said, “We could have had more children”

“I know,” she said “But we can't change the past, I guess we have to look forward to the future”

“Together” he said

“Yes” she answered

A Dallas Police Station

Pam sat in the cell sating out of the small window; she still couldn't quite believe what was happening.  Suddenly a guard came to the door of the cell and Pam walked over to him.

“It's about time it's been over four hours since I saw my lawyer and I have not heard anything since.  I demand to know what the hell is going on.”

The guard a large man stood in front of the door and looked Pam over.

“You can demand all you want little lady but I have got nothing to tell. I have however got you some company so that you don't get to lonesome.”

The guard opened the door and a pushed in another women and then proceeded  to lock up and walk away again.

“Please,” Pamela pleaded, “I need to see my lawyer and get out of here.”

The guard ignored Pam's plea and walked away.

“Dam it!”  Pam banged her fist against the bars in anger.

“There isn't any use getting all worked up they will only do what they want do to anyway, you might just as well save your energy.”

Pam faced the other women and shook her head.

“They are keeping me from my lawyer and won't tell me what's going on and I haven't even had a chance to make a phone call.  I am innocent I shouldn't be in here.”

“Aren't we all sister!”  The lady drawled and then began to laugh to herself.

Pam faced the bars again to hide the tears that were welling up in her eyes from the other woman.

Conference Building

Bobby stumbled around in the dark. He had to find the others and quickly, this building wasn't going to stay standing for long. He called out but heard nothing. W here were they? Would he find anyone conscious or still alive for that matter. He felt tired but knew he couldn't stop, he had to carry on.   He heard the paramedics and firemen following him; he felt relief at that, at least if he found anyone he could call for help.

Ray started to regain consciousness, but Donna knew that by this time he was extremely weak.

“Where are we?” Ray asked

Donna knew that he was confused; his injuries would do that to him.

“Ray, we are trapped inside the conference building, but help is on its way, we'll get out soon,” she answered.

“I can't feel my leg, what is happening,” he said.

“It's okay, just try and relax, we'll get out of here soon” she answered

“But my leg…” by this time Ray was in a panic, she wished he hadn't regained consciousness.

Suddenly she heard a noise, almost like a shout coming from the corridor. She shouted help as loud as she could, maybe just maybe they might get out of here alive.

Bobby heard the scream and listened to see from which direction it was coming from.  The emergency people had caught up with him and he turned to look at one of them.

Where did that call come from?” He asked

One of them answered saying that each one of them just take a different area of the corridor, the sound was definitely coming from one of the rooms off that area.

Donna tried to scream louder, she was sure she could hear footsteps coming towards her. Help was finally coming and they had a chance of getting out alive. Louder and louder she tried to shout until her voice gave up. Bobby entered the room they were in and tried to focus his eyes on the sight before him.  The room was completely wrecked and dead bodies lay before him.  He called out and Donna's weakened reply alerted him.  He called the emergency people and told them that someone was alive.  Gradually they eased their way towards Ray and Donna.

At last Bobby saw Donna and went towards her. Donna had managed to escape serious injury and made an attempt to get up.  Bobby reached for her and hugged her close.  He then looked at Ray and saw his injuries. He was shocked by what he saw, but tried hard not to let anything show on his face.  He turned to Donna and said.

“Do you know if JR and Sue Ellen are still in the building or where they could be?

“No” Donna answered “The last time I saw JR he was standing by the bar and as  for Sue Ellen I can't recall seeing her at all”

“Chances are they're not even together” Bobby said “But I have to try and find them, I have to know that they are safe”

“Bobby, it's too risky, this building could go at any time and you don't even know if they're still in here,” Donna said, “let's get out while we can.”

“Donna, I can't leave yet, not while there's a chance that my brother is still trapped somewhere, there's been too much death and heartache in this family lately”

“But you don't even know if they're still in here, they could be somewhere else” Donna tried to reason with him.

Bobby looked at the paramedics who were attending to Ray, he turned to Donna  “Look you and Ray are in good hands now, I've got to go and find the others, I can't let them die in here”

“Bobby!” Donna shouted, but it was no good, he made his way out into the corridor.

Another part of the Conference Building

Sue Ellen and JR were huddled together.

“You do realise that we could be trapped in here forever” JR said, “No one saw us come in here, they probably think we got out of the building”

“JR, we're not going to die in here, someone will find us, we just need to hang on” Sue Ellen said

They stayed still and were aware that the only sound that could be heard was thesound of the building crumbling before them.

Sue Ellen made an effort to move. “Where are you going?” JR asked

“I just want to try and make it to the door, maybe if I shout for help from there someone might hear me” she answered

“Don't leave me,” JR said.

“JR, I'm not going that far, but we need help sooner rather than later” Sue Ellen said

As Sue Ellen started to walk towards the door, one of the beams started to fall and caught her on the shoulder and knocked her to the ground.

JR was horrified; he couldn't move as his leg was still trapped.

“Sue Ellen” He shouted but no reply came, he tried again, but no reply came back.

Dam this to hell he wasn't go to let them die like this!  JR stated to call for help as loud as he could.

Bobby suddenly heard JR's voice and called back to try and establish wherethe sound was coming from.  He dashed down the corridor and found theroom in which the couple were in. Seeing JR trapped in the rubble he went torescue him but JR stopped him.

No, Bobby” JR said “See to Sue Ellen first, she's not answering me”

Bobby looked over to the other side of the room and saw Sue Ellen she seemed tobe unconscious.  He went over to her and checked that she was breathing. Seeing that she was breathing he laid her on her side and went back to JR.

“JR, let's get you out of here first and then I'll come back for her” Bobby said

JR shook his head “I'm not leaving her in here, take her first and then come back for me”

“JR, you need treatment on that leg, we haven't got much time, I promise I'll come back for her, but I want to get you out first” Bobby answered.

JR was adamant; there was no way he was going to leave her alone here, with the chance of the building collapsing. For once in his life he considered someone else, if the building came down with him in it, then so what, but there was no way he would let Bobby take him out and leave Sue Ellen here. What would be the point of living if he lost her now? Bobby realised that there was no point arguing with JR, he would have to take Sue Ellen first. He walked over to her and quickly lifted her off the ground and begun to steadily walk out of the room. Just as he made his exit, he turned to JR and reassured him that he would be back.

Bobby hurried out of the room carrying Sue Ellen, he knew time was not on his side and he had to go back to rescue JR.  It seemed to take ages before he saw the light of the outside world, and as he did the paramedics came towards him.  He lowered Sue Ellen to the ground and let the Paramedics do their job.  Lucy rushed towards him and embraced him.

“Lucy I have to go back, JR is trapped in there,” he said

“Bobby, the building is on the brink of collapse, please don't go back in.”

Before Lucy could say another word, Bobby had re-entered the building, trying to hurry to the place where he had found JR.  He knew Lucy was right the building was unstable. Having entered the room he went towards JR, seeing that a beam had trapped his leg.

“How's Sue Ellen?” JR asked. “Is she alive”

“JR, she'll be fine, let's just concentrate on you for the moment”

Slowly he lifted the beam of JR's leg.  He then tried to drag JR out of the room and down the corridor and out through the door to safety. Bobby looked around him to make sure that everyone who he knew was in that building was outside.

The paramedic started gathering all the uninjured people up to take them into hospital. Bobby went in the ambulance with JR and Sue Ellen, aware of the change in atmosphere between the two of them. JR seemed worried and anxious about her. What had happened between them in that room?

As the final ambulance left the site, the building gave up its fight to keep standing and crumbled.

A Dallas Hospital

Becky sat by Cliff's bedside, she had the news on the TV and was watching the report from the City hall, and taking hold of Cliff's hand she gently squeezed it willing him to wake up.

“ If you are going to wake up then now would be a great time” Becky said.  “ JR's got me over a barrel and I am going to have move to Southfork if I want to keep my baby safe.  I need you please wake up.”

Becky looked at her father's face and for a moment she thought she saw his eyes flickering but it was just her imagination.  Something on the television caught her attention and she looked up at the screen.

“As I speak, I can confirm that JR and Sue Ellen Ewing have just been brought out of the building alive but it looks like they are many more people still trapped inside and already dead.”

“Dam it” Becky said looking up at the ceiling “ can you give me a break already, please, I just need some help here.”

Suddenly another voice spoke.

“Maybe I can help.”

Becky turned around to find a red headed lady in her early forties dressed in black stood in the door, she stared at the women for a second then spoke.

“Do you make a habit of listening in on other people's conversations?”

“I am sorry, I was just hoping to visit Cliff to make sure he was okay.”

“Well he's not okay, nothing is okay.  Now do I know you?”

“Well we haven't met exactly.”

“Okay if you are one of my dads lady friends then I am not interested and I would ask you to not come here and disturb us, it's family only.”

“I am family.”

Becky looked puzzled and shook her head.

“ Well you certainly like the dramatics don't you.  Do you intend to introduce yourself then or are just going to stand there like the black widow?”

“I am your Aunt Katherine.”

Becky registered what she had heard for a moment and then laughed and again lookedat the ceiling.

“You have got to be joking!”

An office in Dallas

In a board room in Dallas a group of European business men sit around a table watching the news report and chat amongst themselves, the door opens and a lady in her early fifties walks in and they suddenly become quiet.

“Gentleman as you can see the first stage of our plan is looking to be a success. We have just claimed responsibly for the bombing on behalf of a Syrian underground terrorist group.  Once this is released we can proceed, with the heightened fears of more attacks and the threat of more trouble in the Middle East we can estimate that crude oil will rise at least 18 cents to $30.58.  So once we make our move into the targeted companies and then start to distribute our ‘cheap' crude we will be making an instant profit.”  The woman said in a crisp English accent.

“And if any of the existing businesses object?”

“Then we will deal with it!  There will be no objections.  Don't worry I will show you how easy it is can be done, in a matter of months we will have Ewing Oil distributing our illegal oil, we will be making huge profits and any risk will be on their heads.”

“So you think you can get pull the wool over JR Ewing's eyes.”

“What makes you think that Ewing has survived?”

Elizabeth Benson glared at the panel of men.

“But if he has survived then I will deal with him, make no mistake of that.”
