Pamela
sat in the interview of the Dallas Police Department, two detectives
sat behind a desk questioning her.
"Are you charging
me officer?" Pamela asked
"Mrs Ewing, you do
have a right to a lawyer" The detective explained
"I told you already
I don't need one, my son is innocent" Pamela stated
"That may be so, we
don't know do we, but you're not. You have made every effort to obstruct
justice in a murder enquiry, you're in a lot of trouble, I can't emphasis
that enough" The detective explained
"Lets just get this
over with shall we, I was trying to protect my son, I know how that
tape sounds, I did what I had to do" Pamela explained in a harsh
tone.
"Iv heard it too,
you say you're son is innocent yet you had a compelling need to 'protect'
him, protect him from what? " The Detective asked fanning himself
with his note pad.
"From assumptions,
from wrong conclusions, from people who may of got the wrong idea,
" Pamela explained
"Come on Mrs Ewing,
don't play me for a fool. You got the tape you say from this private
detcetive, you paid him off to keep quiet, you then purchase an airline
ticket to get your son out of the country. You knew he was a major
suspect, you knew before the rest of your family this was going to
get messy, you knew John Ross was murdered, your own nephew, and you
conspired to keep your sons name out of it" The Detective stated
in a chilling voice
"It wasn't like that,
you are twisting things" Pamela stated angrily
"I don't have to twist
a dam thing, the evidence is staring you cold in the face, so what
else are you hiding? What did you son tell you? Did he tell you how
angry he was? " The Detective asked
"He wasn't angry,
he was upset, he cared for John Ross deeply" Pamela stated
"Did you care for
John Ross?" The Detective asked leaning back in his chair
"Of course I did,
I watched him grow up" Pamela replied
"Well isn't that just
great, I bet his parents really will appreciate your concern. You
cared about him so much you were willing to interfere in an investigation
into his death" The Detective said,.
There was a moments silence,
Pamela took a breath and ran her fingers through her hair, the detective
sat forward again.
"You say he wasn't
angry, he was upset , so the week before the chopper crash, dinner
at your family home, your son and John Ross Ewing get into a fist
fight and your son, your innocent son, pulls out a shotgun, threatens
to kill John Ross. So what was your son then? Angry, upset or just
having a bad day?" he asked sarcastically.
Pamela shook her head
"This is ridiculous"
she stated
"Well as ridiculous
as it may seem to you, Pamela Ewing I am charging you with Obstructing
Justice, now I strongly suggest you call a lawyer" The Detective
stated coldly
Pamela leaned back in her
chair and sighed
