At Southfork Bobby walked into the house
after being out in the fields, Gary was on his way out.
"Great news
Bobby" Gary beamed
"Lucy?"
Bobby asked
"She's awake
Bobby, Ray just called from the hospital" Gary said
Bobby sighed with
relief and smiled
"Thank god"
Bobby stated
"I'm on my
way over there" Gary replied
"Let me get
cleaned up and I'll follow you over" Bobby replied
Gary left and
JR, unshaven walked down the stairs
"Lucy is
awake JR, " Bobby informed him
"Maybe she
can give us some answers to what happened" JR responded unemotionally
At that
point Detective Cronin knocked on the patio doors.
"Can I help
you?" Bobby asked
"I'm looking
for Mr JR Ewing, I'm Detective Cronin from the Dallas Police department,
I'm investigating his son's death"
"You better
come in" Bobby replied showing the Detective into the lounge
"JR there's
someone to see you" Bobby explained
"What is
it? I'm in no mood for visitors" JR snapped
"Mr Ewing,
I'm sorry about your sons death, I'm detective Cronin and I need to
ask you a couple of questions sir, if that's ok?"
JR poured himself
a brandy. "Can I fix you one?" JR asked
"Little early
for me Mr Ewing" Cronin replied
"Well right
now I don't know what time it is, night and day seem to make no difference
right now" JR replied as he downed a brandy with Bobby looking
on concerned
"Mr Ewing
an investigation has been carried out on the chopper which went down,
it appears that there was malicious intent" Cronin stated
"What do
you mean?" JR asked
"It seems
the tail rotor belts and the right angled gear box were tampered with,
deliberately" The Detective explained
Bobby walked over
"Are you
saying the crash wasn't an accident?" Bobby asked
"We believe
that whoever carried this out had one intent, and that was to bring
that chopper down, now Mr Ewing, I know your son wasn't in the chopper
at the time, but I do know he owned it, right now we can't determine
if this was aimed at him or perhaps the deceased pilot, or maybe someone
else, but what its boils down too is that we are no longer look at
this as a simple accident but a murder inquiry.
JR put his glass
down with a thud, his eyes widened with an intense hatred.
"You are
telling me my son was murdered" JR said
"Yes Mr Ewing,
right now, I'm saying it wasn't an accident" The detective stated
"This doesn't
make sense" Bobby commented
"Now hold
on a sec Bobby, this makes perfect sense, yeah, it all adds up"
JR said thinking aloud
"What do
you mean Mr Ewing?" The detective asked
"I find it
quite ironic that my sons wife was having if off with her husbands
cousin, that the chopper went down right after their sordid little
affair came to light, that John Ross was with Becky at the time and
was lured, yeah lured over to the barn by Christopher" JR stated
"No JR"
Bobby said quietly shaking his head.
JR bolted out
of the room and outside of the house and charged into his mercedes
Bobby ran after
him
"JR wait"
Bobby shouted, by JR sped off
Bobby ran over
to his car and got in and sped off after JR.
At
Dallas memorial Hospital, Lucy sat up in bed.
"I can't
remember much, the last thing is the chopper going down, we were falling
so fast, I released the belt and knowing that my only chance was to
throw myself out of the side, that's all I recall" Lucy remembered
Ray smiled "Well
you are ok now, you are so lucky to be alive"
"What about
Phil? How's he?" Lucy whispered
"He didn't
make it Lucy, he didn't get out" Ray explained
Lucy lay her head
back on the pillow
"Oh god,
poor Phil, that's so awful, oh Ray" Lucy replied in shock
Ray turned and
looked over at Miss Ellie, Miss Ellie nodded
"Lucy, there
is something else" Ray stated
"What? What's
wrong?" Lucy asked looking over at Miss Ellie
"When the
chopper went down, it hit the barn, do you remember why you were on
your way over there?" Ray asked
Lucy thought for
a moment
"Christopher?
We were going to help Christopher" Lucy recalled
Ray nodded, his
eyes became emotional
"What is
it? What happened?" Lucy asked anxiously
"Becky and
John Ross were at the barn too, John Ross was in the barn when it
was hit" Ray explained taking Lucy's hand
"What do
you mean? Is he ok? What happened?" Lucy asked fearing the worse
Ray looked down,
Miss Ellie tried to hold back her tears
"No, he's
not...........he can't be dead, no" Lucy stated
Ray looked up,
as if to look to heaven for answers
"He was killed
Lucy" Ray said bluntly
Lucy gasped as
if for breath
"No"
she said and burst into tears as the finally accepted what Ray had
said.
Miss Ellie closed
her eyes in pain.
JR's car
skidded into the driveway of Pamela Ewing, Bobby drove in close behind.
Pamela
stood in the kitchen making a coffee, she looked up as she heard a
commotion outside.
"JR just
leave" Bobby shouted
"Bobby I
know you are trying to protect your son but right now I need to know
the truth" JR snapped back.
Pam opened the
front door
"What's going
on?" Pam asked
JR turned and
pushed past her and walked into her lounge
"Where is
he Pamela, where is your son?" JR shouted
Pamela looked
at Bobby
"What's going
on?" she asked
"JR this
isn't helping" Bobby said
JR turned to Pamela
"Where is
he Pamela?" JR demanded
"Do you think
I'm really going to tell you that when you are acting like this"
Pamela replied
JR grabbed her
arm
"My son is
dead Pamela and I think Christopher knows something" JR snapped
Bobby pulled JR
back
"JR I will
drag you out myself" Bobby said angrily
"For your
information JR , Christopher isn't here, he's gone away" Pamela
said
Bobby looked confused
"Away? Where
away?" JR asked
"He's gone
away because he was driven away, by you and everyone else who wants
to pinpoint blame" Pamela replied
"How convenient"
JR replied
"Is that
true Pam? Christopher has left? Where's he gone?" Bobby asked
in hurtful voice
Pam looked away
"He's gone to Europe, to sort himself out"
"Europe!"
Bobby stated in a shocked manner
"Don't you
find that a little strange" JR remarked "Christopher leaves
Texas just as its revealed my sons death was no accident"
"I think
you should leave JR, I'm sorry about about John Ross but that doesn't
justify this" Pamela replied coldly
JR walked towards
the door and turned
"I find it
very strange Pam, you showed no reaction to the idea that John Ross
was murdered" JR said as he left .
Pam stood and
said nothing. Bobby looked over at her.
"What's going
on Pam?" he asked
"Christopher
just needed to get away, that's it, he's hurting right now on so many
levels, that we thought it was for best" Pamela explained
"Really?
Without a goodbye, without a phone call to his father, nothing? Don't
I count anymore" Bobby responded
Pamela walked
over to him
"Of course
you do but right now you can't expect to look at things rationally"
she replied
"Why do I
feel I'm loosing everything? Why do I suddenly feel like the enemy
here" Bobby asked Pamela
"Bobby I
don't want you to feel like that, I love you, but things have become
so complicated"
Bobby looked away
"I don't
understand What's going on" Bobby stated
"Lets just
give it time, please" Pamela requested
Bobby turned to
her
"Well your
call Pamela, once again, well I can't wait around forever, I won't
wait around this time for you, god knows Iv done it long enough already"
with that Bobby walked out of the house
Pamela sat down
and put her head in her hands.
Christopher
stood in the departure lounge at the airport,
He looked up at the departure times to Rome in Italy.
He thought for a moment and took out his cell phone from his bag.
Becky
lay on her bed, playing 'Outside' by Fred Durst. She turned and hugged
her pillow.
Her cell phone began to ring, she reached over and picked it up. She
saw "Christopher's name flashing up on display.
She looked at
it and hesitated.
