At Pamela's home Christopher stood waiting
for an explanation from his mother
Pamela walked
over to her son
"What's going
on?" Christopher asked
"Christopher,
I'm trying to protect you" Pamela stated
"From what?"
he asked
"Apparently
the chopper, John's Ross's chopper was sabotaged" Pamela explained
"What? What
are you saying?" Christopher asked
"There is
going to be an investigation, an inquest" she explained
Christopher was
stunned
"My god"
Christopher stated looking down. He paused and look straight back
at his mother "Wait, are you suggesting that....! You don't think
I did it? You do.........you think it was me" Christopher spurted
at his mother
Pamela walked
over to her son
"I didn't
say that Christopher, I know you wouldn't do that, I know you couldn't"
Pamela explained
"Then why
the phone call? " he asked
"I don't
believe for a moment you are capable of that, but I wouldn't would
I, but that's just me, and sadly my opinion doesn't count for much
in a court of law" Pam said
"I'm confused"
Christopher explained
"There's
something you need to know" Pamela said as picked up the cassette
"What's that?"
Christopher asked
"John Ross
had Becky followed and her car was bugged" Pamela explained
"Typical
John Ross" Christopher said bluntly
"I managed
to stop this cassette going to the Police, it's the night of the accident,
you threaten to get rid of John Ross, you say no matter what it takes
you want to be with Becky. Christopher, if it's true and John Ross
was murdered, you are in a lot of trouble" Pamela stated harshly
"I can't
believe I'm hearing this, this is insane." Christopher stated
"It looks
bad Christopher, you were having an affair with his wife, you made
it quite clear how you felt about him, god you almost killed him right
in front of everyone at Southfork, you find out she's pregnant and
then he's murdered. How does that look?" Pamela reinforced the
trouble her son was in
"But running
away? Won't that look worse?" Christopher asked
"Christopher,
JR is looking to blame someone and when he gets wind of this he will
make sure you go down, maybe if you get away, far away, until this
has all blown over, maybe then you stand a chance" Pamela explained
"JR doesn't
scare me" Christopher stated
"Well things
are different now, he's lost his son, JR wont rest until he destroys
whoever he feels was involved and right now that's you" Pamela
replied
Christopher stood
silently.
"Is that
making any sense?" Pamela asked
"Right now
nothing makes much sense to me, I have all these feelings, I have
knot in my stomach and I just want to scream. I hate what happened,
he was like a brother to me, I hate all this, I don't understand it"
Christopher replied
"Let me make
that call" Pamela said
"What about
you? What if the rest of the family find out about this? What if JR
finds out? Dad?" Christopher asked
"I can take
care of myself, I can deal with JR" Pamela replied
"But mom
you could loose everything" Christopher replied
"As long
as I don't loose you , I don't care about the rest, please let me
do this, let me help you" Pamela replied
Christopher thought
for a moment
"When would
I leave?" he asked
"Tomorrow
" Pamela replied sighing
"But how
I will I know what's happening here?" Christopher asked
Pamela placed
her hands on his shoulders
"We will
keep in touch, you must call me, you must let me know where you are"
Pamela stated
Christopher nodded
"What about dad? Will you tell dad?"
Pamela smiled
"Yes I will tell your father"
"Will you
make sure he knows it wasn't me, please" Christopher said
Pamela nodded
and hugged her son
"It's going
to turn out ok Chris, its all going to be fine, I promise"
At Dallas memorial hospital Miss Ellie
arranged some flowers by Lucy's bed. She took out a brush and brushed
Lucy's hair as the monitors beeped away and the pipe in Lucy's mouth
helped her to breath.
"Oh Lucy,
wake up, please wake up" Ellie pleaded
Ray walked in
removing his stetson.
"Miss Ellie"
he said smiling
"Hello Ray"
Ellie replied
"Any change?"
Ray asked
Ellie shook her
head "No, nothing, I just wish there was something, some sign
that she could hear me"
"She looks
so peaceful" Ray noted looking down at Lucy
Ellie laughed
"She would love all this attention, Lucy thrived on attention
right from a baby and she knew how to get it, especially from Jock,
whatever Lucy wanted Jock would give in, he adored her."
"I don't
think that was just Jock" Ray smiled
"Very true
Ray, she had us all smitten, she was the baby girl in a house filled
with Ewing men, she learnt young how to control her man" Ellie
giggled
Ellie stood up
and poured herself a glass of water. Lucy's eyes flickered.
"Lucy! Lucy!"
Ray called out noticing her eyes.
"What is
it Ray?" Ellie asked
"Miss Ellie
look, quickly" Ray stated
"Lucy can
you hear me? Lucy?" Ellie called out
"I'll get
a nurse" Ray stated excitedly running out
"Lucy? Lucy
its grandma, can you hear me?" Ellie called out holding Lucy's
hand
Lucy began to
come around, her eyes slowly opened
"Grandma?"
Lucy whispered
"Oh Lucy,
Lucy, you're going to be fine" Ellie stated emotionally
"Where am
I?" Lucy whispered attempting to lift her head.
"Don't try
to move, you're in the hospital but you are fine" Ellie smiled
Lucy closed her
eyes.
Sue
Ellen sat alone in a coffee shop as a waitress poured her a cup of
coffee. Sue Ellen thanked her and took a sip from the cup.
She looked up
to see Becky standing by her table
"Hello Becky"
Sue Ellen smiled
"Sue Ellen"
Becky replied
"I'm pleased
you agreed to meet me" Sue Ellen stated as Becky sat down
"I don't
want to fight with you Sue Ellen" Becky expressed
Sue Ellen nodded
"I agree, I just wanted us to talk" she explained
"Well Iv
been thinking, Iv done a lot of that, thinking about you, John Ross
and his family, and you were right" Becky stated as the waitress
interrupted and asked Becky for her order
"Just a latte,
thanks" Becky replied
"You were
right, John Ross didn't have a religious bone in his body, I felt
it was right we held a church ceremony but on reflection, you were
right, it should take place at Southfork, so you have my blessing
Sue Ellen, you can arrange that, I know how John Ross loved Southfork"
Becky tries not to cry "I'm sorry"
"It's not
easy for you is it?" Sue Ellen
Becky shook her
head "No, do you mind?" she asked taking out a cigarette
Sue Ellen looked
surprised "Is that a good idea, after what you told us, about
the baby?"
"No its not
wise, but I don't need a lecture right now, I'm dealing with all of
this one step at a time" Becky stated lighting up
"I want to
help you, I want to find a way to support you" Sue Ellen explained
"Oh please
Sue Ellen, don't patronize me, you don't care about me or how I feel,
you only care about what you want and that's my child" Becky
stated
"I know John
Ross loved you and despite everything I know you loved him too and
of course I want to know my grandchild but that doesn't mean I can't
help" Sue Ellen explained
"Well, I'm
surprised I'm not number one on your suspect list" Becky blurted
out bluntly
"What?"
Sue Ellen asked confused by the statement
Becky was taken
back by Sue Ellen's question
"You don't
know?" Becky asked
"Know what?
What are you talking about?" Sue Ellen asked
"Sorry Sue
Ellen I thought you must of known, the Police paid me a visit this
morning, they think the chopper going down was no accident, they've
opened a murder enquiry" Becky explained
Sue Ellen dropped
her coffee in shock which shattered to the floor.
