JR
arrived home at Southfork, holding the envelope containing the photos.
He started to climb the stairs as Pamela made her way down them.
He stopped and
glared at her.
"Something
wrong JR?" she asked
He continued to
glare
"Secrets
Pam,secrets are like chickens--they come home to roost" he said
with grin
"What is
that supposed to mean? What are you talking about?" Pamela asked
assertively.
JR looked at
Pamela and raised an eyebrow "Pamela sometimes I think if your
brains were dynamite you still couldn't blow your nose" he laughed
and walked up the stairs.
Inside Pam knew
that JR had found out about Becky and Christopher, she was scared
for her son. What if JR did know? What would he do? Pamela imagined
the consequences of the affair being revealed. She walked down the
stairs and into the living room.
Miss Ellie sat on her chair "Hello
Pam" she said with a huge smile.
"Hi Miss
Ellie" Pam replied quietly "Is this about Kimberly?"
she asked
Miss Ellie looked
down then back up at Pam
"I want
to tell the family together" she said taking off her spectacles.
Bobby and Ray
walked in together, Ray removed his hat and greeted Miss Ellie.
"What's
this about momma?" Bobby asked with a concerned look
"Fix me
a drink Bobby, a brandy" Miss Ellie asked as she fiddled with
her pearl necklace.
Bobby nodded
and poured Miss Ellie a drink as Lucy walked in with John Ross.
"No JR?"
Ellie asked
"He's home
Miss Ellie" Pam replied looking over at John Ross.
Bobby handed
his mother the drink and JR walked in.
"Good now
we are all here, no Christopher? Becky?" Ellie asked.
JR looked at
Pamela "No momma, I guess they got caught up somewhere"
he said clearing his throat.
Pamela looked
away, now it was confirmed that JR knew something.
"I have
something to tell you all" Miss Ellie stated
"Go ahead
grandma" Lucy instructed
"You all
remember my brother, Garrison" Ellie asked.
"Of course
momma" Bobby replied
"If I remember
rightly momma you wanted to hand him Southfork" JR said sarcastically
"That's
right JR, but Garrison came home to die, but speaking of Southfork,
its was Garrisons legally, he was the eldest Southworth son and daddy
left him the ranch. When we thought Garrison was lost the ranch was
handed to me." Ellie explained
"Why are
you telling us this grandma?" Lucy asked
"A few months
ago, Pamela found a photograph of her Aunt Maggie with Garrison and
Sheree Simmons, Sheree was Garrisons first love" she laughed
"Sheree was as wild as they come and I didn't think she was good
enough for my brother and the lord knows I let her know that"
she laughs.
Bobby looked
at Pamela with confusion.
"Well it
turns out Sheree had Garrisons daughter, she died some years back,
but she has a daughter, Garrisons granddaughter, Kimberly" Ellie
stopped
There was a silence
in the room
"Where are
you taking this momma?" JR asked concerned
"If we had
found out Garrison was alive earlier, history would of told a very
different story. Legally, Southfork belonged to Garrison" Ellie
stated.
"Momma I
hope you're not thinking of handing the ranch over to some crazy gold
digger, sorry I forget you already did that" JR stated looking
over at Lucy
Ellie smiled
"No JR, Lucy owns 90% of Southfork now, and that's for her to
do with as she wishes"
Lucy gave JR
a sarcastic look
"But I still
own 10% of this ranch, and that 10% I will signing over to Sheree
and Kimberly" Ellie stated confidently
There was a stunned
silence in the room.
JR charged around
and faced him mother
"Momma are
you getting overdrawn on the memory bank? This is our family home,
daddy saved this ranch, he built it up. If it weren't for Jock Ewing
there wouldn't be a Southfork and no outsider is laying a hand on
this ranch" JR shouted
Bobby intervened
"JR stop it"
"But he's
right Bobby, grandma this is crazy" Lucy stated
Miss Ellie stood
up "My mind is made up. Its only right, its what my daddy would
of wanted. Kimberly will be here this evening with someone from Smithfield's
to do the sign over"
"Momma you
can't do this" JR pleaded
"JR its
going to happen. This is not up for negotiation" Ellie snapped
back and charged out of the room
JR looked at
Pamela
"This is all your fault Pamela, you just had to go snooping,
sticking your nose in business that didn't concern you, Ewing business.
Hell I bet you even put momma up to this" JR said.
"Shut up
JR, don't act so holy about the ranch, I don't think any of us will
forget how you mortgaged it" Pam replied bitterly.
"Pam, you
knew about this? You knew about Kimberly?" Bobby asked
"Bobby -
Miss Ellie asked me not to break a confidence, I respected that"
Pamela replied
"You should
of told me Pam, you should of said" Bobby said quietly.
"Well thank
you Bobby, thank you everyone" Pam shouted angrily and stormed
out
"See I told
you Bob, I told you she was trouble" JR stated
Bobby pulled
JR's arm "Just shut it JR" Bobby said in a threatening manner,
releasing his grip and walking out.
"Well something
has to stop this, this is not going to happen" JR stated.
JR walked over
to John Ross
"John Ross,
before you go I need to speak to you" JR said to his son
John Ross turned
to his dad
"Not here"
JR said taking out the envelope from his jacket pocket
JR and John Ross
walk into the dining room.
"What is
it? is it mom?" John Ross asked.
"No son,
but its not good news" JR said as he began to pull out a photograph.
Suddenly the
door burst open and Lucy came in.
"John Ross,
there's been an accident, Becky's at Dallas memorial" Lucy stated
in a panic
"Oh god
no" John Ross stated running out of the room.
JR stood alone, he looked the photo in his hand of Christopher kissing
Becky.
