Synopsis - The lives of the Ewing family are about to be radically changed forever in this two part story which results in a new era for the show and the true beginning of Dallas The Legacy.

Night fell on Southfork Ranch. A gas lamp lit up a stable as a magnificent black horse, old and weak lay down on the hay as the light reflected off its gorgeous brown eyes. Miss Ellie silently walked in, the horse stirred in a knowing way when she arrived. Ellie bent down and smiled, gently patting the animals nose.

John Ross lay on this bed, he glared up thoughtfully at the ceiling. Next to him a newspaper dictated his sadness, Sue Ellen Ewing jailed for three years. John Ross wondered what life would be like without his mother, he felt her pain and hurt at his own loss.

JR walked into his bedroom holding a brandy, he removed his tie and threw it on the bed. He took a sip of his drink and opened a dresser drawer and took out a photograph from his second wedding to Sue Ellen. He reflected on earlier times at Southfork, his life with Sue Ellen, as he looked down at her smiling face from the photo.

Sue Ellen is led into a prison cell, the door is slammed shut behind her.

Anita Smithfield sat in a bar in downtown Dallas, Jeremy Wendel leaned forward

"Good work Anita" he said smiling

"So what now? What's the next step?" she asked

He sat back "Now its time to take back WesStar" he said with a cold glare.

Pamela on horseback rode over to the stable. She got off the horse and walked into the barn.

"Miss Ellie" she whispered calling out

Ellie looked up

"She's dying Pam, Renegade, Jock named her, the foul of his stallion Wild Card, and a wild card he was" she said smiling as the big brown eyes of the horse fluttered in the light.

"I brought you some coffee" Pam said holding a flask

Miss Ellie smiled.

"This may not be the right time to ask Miss Ellie, but what happened with Kimberly? Something did, something you are not saying" Pam asked.

Miss Ellie took a breath.

"Kimberly! Pamela....not a word to Bobby" she asked quietly stroking the head of the horse.

Pam nodded

"Kimberly is Garrison's granddaughter, Shreree had his child, she died and now Kimberly feels she has lost out on all of this. On Southfork, on Garrisons rightful legacy" Ellie stood up.

"What are you going to do Miss Ellie?" Pamela asked.

"Right now Pam I just don't know, she's a Southworth, she's my brothers flesh and blood"

"Miss Ellie you can't do this alone if she's going to make some claim on Southfork then you need to get legal advice" Pam suggested.

"Pamela this isn't about what's legal, or money, its about what's right, its about what she's entitled too" Ellie stated

"What are you saying?" Pam asked

"Garrison was the rightful heir to Southfork, that is what my father wanted" Ellie explained

Pamela thought for a moment "Are you saying you think she has a legal claim to Southfork?"

Miss Ellie smiled awkwardly "Not legal Pamela, but a rightful claim and I think its only right that I honor what my father wanted. I don't know how I am going to do that yet, but I will. I will make sure Kimberly gets what she's entitled too"

Pam stood silently contemplating Ellies words.

Ellie looked down at the horse. His eyes were closed. He was dead.
