Lucy
sat in the patio area, her hair pulled back from her face by a pair
of shades on her head. She sipped a cold drink through a straw and looked
up as a yellow taxi pulled into the driveway and Kimberly walked out.
"Can I help
you?" Lucy asked
"Maybe"
Kimberly stated angrily
"Well I won't
know unless you tell me" Lucy asked sarcastically.
"Is Mrs Ewing
here? Mrs Pamela Ewing" Kimberly asked impatiently
"No she's not.
Can I help? Im Lucy Ewing and you are?" Lucy asked
"Not very happy,
tell Mrs Ewing that I have waited for over an hour and she didn't bother
to turn up" Kimberly spurted
The ringing of the
telephone interrupted their conversation.
"Looks like
nobody wants to answer the phone around here" Lucy huffed and picked
up the phone.
Bobby
still stood with JR
"Are we going
to tell momma?" JR asked
"Of course
JR, then we can finally put this nightmare to rest" Bobby expressed
Lucy walked in on
them, she stood without speaking.
"What's wrong
Lucy? What's happened?" Bobby asked
"Bobby - the
police just rang. They found your car burnt out , there was some kind
of accident" Lucy said slowly
"Oh god - Pamela"
Bobby said in an almost trance like state. The horror fixated on his
face
In
downtown Dallas an abandoned warehouse, isolated from the busy streets,
away from public view.
Willie Joe Gar carried
a flashlight, followed by Jeb Ames they walked up a flight of metal
stairs. Their heavy foot steps echoed out in the damp and deserted building.
Willie removed a large piece of wood which had forced an open storage
freezer door shut. With Jebs help he pulled the door open and walked
in. They walked in and covered there faces as the stench of rotting
meat filled the air, they waved flies away from their faces and walked
towards a body that lay on the floor. Pamela Ewing , her mouth taped
and arms bound was pushed into a corner.
Jeb kneeled down and ripped off the tape from her mouth. Pamela coughed
and took a moment to gather her breath.
"What is going
on? Who are you?" she asked fearfully.
"Lets just
say we have a long history with the Ewing family, we met once or twice,
Pammy, long ago, very long ago. Your husband and his brother - should
of kept their nose out of our business" Jeb explained in a sarcastic
manner
Willie butted in
"You are our
bargaining chip Mrs Ewing - so you best do what we tell you and you
will be fine. We don't want to rough you up but if this messes up you
will rot here like the rest of the dead carcasses left in this meat
freezer"
Jeb took out a cell
phone. "Now Mrs Ewing you are going to say a few little words for
your hubby back home - you know the usual crap, tell him your fine and
perhaps put on a few tears about how much you miss him - now whats the
number to his private line"
Pamela looked on.
Bobby
drove his car down the highway on his way to the scene of the car accident,
Lucy sat at his side. The phone rang in the car, Bobby reached over
with one hand and picked it up
"Hello"
he said
"Is that Bobby
Ewing?" Jeb asked
Bobby frowned "Who
is this?"
"I have someone
here who wants to talk to you" Jeb smiled and turned to Pamela
"Now remember
Pammy, not a word about where you are, you slip up and thats it. Its
over." Jeb threatened her.
Pam nodded and Jeb
gave her the phone.
"Bobby"
Pam said shakily
Bobby looked up
to the skies with a mass of relief.
"Pamela, Pamela
thank god" Bobby said with an intense joy "Where are you?"
"Bobby, Im
fine, they have me. These two men -" before she could finish her
sentence Jeb grabbed the phone from her
"Bobby Ewing
- your wife is fine for now and if she stays that way depends on you"
Jeb explained
"What the hell
is going on? Who the hell are you?" Bobby shouted as Lucy looked
on in confusion.
"I guess Parmalee
has told you everything by now and if not it wasn't long." Jebs
said looking down at Pamela.
Bobby thought for
a moment "Ames? " he whispered
"Got it in
one Mr Ewing and I got your wife. So no Police, no funny business and
she'll be fine. We want money, we want out of the states, a private
plane to escort us to Mexico, you can arrange that?" Jebs asked
"Whatever you
want but just don't hurt my wife" Bobby begged
"I will be
back in touch tomorrow morning Ewing, on your private number."
Jeb instructed
"Tomorrow?
I can arrange it now, I can do it now" Bobby pleaded with him.
"Tomorrow ,
I said tomorrow" Jeb replied and hung up the phone.
"Ames? Ames"
Bobby called.
Bobby put his foot
on the accelerator and spun the car around, skidding in its tracks sending
a dust cloud up into the sky.
"What's going
on Bobby? " Lucy asked
"We have to
go back to Southfork and you don't breath a word of this. They have
Pam, the men responsible for your granddaddy's death have Pam."
Bobby explained as he sped back to Southfork.
"What are you
going to do?" Lucy asked.
"Wait - wait
for instructions what else can I do?, just wait " Bobby said hoping
everything would work out just fine.
