At
Ciffs Afton lay in bed, she turned over to see Cliff was not home. She
sighed.
At
Braddock Police Department Cliff lay slumped in a chair, unshaven as
Sue Ellen walked out. Cliff awoke from his light sleep.
"Cliff what are you still doing here?" she asked.
"Huh Sue Ellen?"
he said sitting up coming back to reality.
"Go home Cliff"
Sue Ellen demanded
"What happened?
" Cliff asked.
"I sorted out
the bail, they say I was drunk" Sue Ellen explained
"But you weren't
were you?" He asked
"NO, of course
I wasn't. I have been sober for years Cliff" she snapped back at
him
"Then how did
this happen? "he asked.
"How do you
think?" she said angrily "JR Ewing, that's how."
"So what are
we looking at here Sue Ellen?" Cliff asks.
Sue Ellen looks
down "Well Im being charged with a second degree felony"
"What does
your attorney say?" Cliff asks.
"Up to a $10,000.00
fine and - " she pauses "and a term in the Penitentiary for
anything between 2 and- "she pauses again and takes a breath "20
years".
She closes her eyes
to retrain the pain. Cliff hugs her.
Pamela
sits on her bed. The sound of a shower can be heard in the background.
"It doesn't
make any sense Bobby. We were with Sue Ellen just moments before, she
didn't touch a drop of alcohol. We can vouch for that and I would know
if she had started drinking again" Pam calls out as she reads some
papers on her lap.
Bobby exits the
shower wearing a towel and drying his hair.
"I agree. Maybe
we should go over there" Bobby said.
"I rang - no
reply" Pam said.
Bobby shook his
head spurting water over Pamela.
"BOBBY"
Pamela called out.
Bobby smiled sarcastically.
"You have wet
the papers now" Pam stated picking up the papers from her lap.
Bobby sat behind
her and put his arms around her tightly. Pam closed her eyes feeling
his touch.
"Thats very
nice, but I still don't forgive you" she laughed,
"What is that?"
he asked looking at the papers.
"Well this
whole thing with Aunt Maggie, Garrison and Cherie, it got me curious.
So Iv been doing
a little bit of detective work myself and these are all the names that
match her description" Pam stated.
"Why are you
doing this Pam?" Bobby asked.
"Well Im curious.
I don't know. Why do you think I should leave alone?" she asked.
"No......if
you want to do that. But I don't know what you are going to achieve"
Bobby replied.
"Well we'll
see " Pam replied.
Pam turned to Bobby.
"Do you know
that today marks the 24th anniversary of our first marriage. My arrival
at Southfork" she smiled.
"Wow. Long
time ago" Bobby replied.
"Lots happened"
Pam said smiling
"Remember how
cold it was" Bobby recalled rubbing Pams shoulders.
"Lots of snow
and your mommas face when she opened the door" Pam said laughing.
"And daddy"
Bobby said thinking back.
"Oh boy your
daddy. Did he look stern, his favorite son marrying that poor Barnes
girl" Pam smiled.
"Well he did
have a point" Bobby said sarcastically.
"Oh really......too
wild for ya Bobby was I?" Pam asked smiling seductively.
"I like wild......"
Bobby said raising his eyebrows with that little boy look that melted
Pams heart 1000 times.
"Oh I think
I have plenty of wild left in me Bobby" Pam said getting closer
to Bobby
Bobby breathed in
heavily "I love you Pam" he smiled.
They kissed and
fell back on the bed. Pam threw the towel covering Bobby to the floor.
At
Sals home in downtown Dallas. Sal sits watching TV and drinking a beer.
Tracy and Margaret walk in.
Sal turned down the TV.
"So what you
got me today?" Sal asked.
"Nothing"
Margaret replied.
"Excuse me"
Tracy said scared running off.
"What do you
mean nothing? Your joking right?" Sal said getting up, towering
above Margaret.
"I don't want
to do this Sal. I wont do it" Margaret stated strongly.
Sal shook her head
"Won't . Honey there is no such word. Ok so pay up, lets see how
much will food and lodging come to, or plus my expenses for time"
"I don't have
any money" Margaret replied.
"Then you have
a problem don't you" Sal said.
"I wont do
it Sal" Margaret stated strongly
"If you run
Margaret. I will find you" Sal replied viciously.
"Like I care"
Margaret replied naively.
Sal stood in front
of Margaret and laughed. She grabbed Margaret's hair. Margaret screamed.
Sal pushed her against the wall, hitting her head.
"Now don't
you ever cheek me. You hear? You hear me? answer me dam it" Sal
said smashing Margaret's head against the wall.
"I hear you,
I hear you" Margaret replied pitifully, crying.
Sal let go. "Now
get out my sight and don't let me down again"
Margaret nodded
and ran out of the room.
Dallas
airport JR waited at the arrivals. He paced up and down waiting
for Lee Evans, he was growing impatient as other passengers left exited
the area but no sign of Evans. JR walked over to the arrivals desk and
addressed the woman sitting.
"Can I help
you sir" she asked.
"I hope so
a friend of mine was on flight 501, but I don't seem to see him, could
you check for me" JR stated gruffly.
The woman looked
at her computer
"Name please"
she asked
"Evans...........Lee
Evans" JR stated
The woman typed
on her keyboard then looked up at J.R
"Yes sir, Mr
Evans he was booked on that flight. But he never booked in. He didn't
board the plane" she explained
"Your sure
about that?" JR asked hoping for different news.
"Positive sir,
maybe your friend was late , but he never got on board that plane"
she restated
J.R sighed "Dam
it Evans what game are you playing?" he asked himself.
The scene fades to
black.
It
was morning at Southfork, the air strangely still. Miss Ellie dressed
in dignified black , her pearls laced around her neck stood on the Southfork
stairs. Gary stood behind her as Jocks casket was led out of Southfork.
Outside as the Texas sun shone down a fleet of black cars waited to
take the family to Jocks final resting place. Bobby, JR, Pamela, John
Ross and Christopher stood together with Becky. Valene and Lucy stood
as the coffin was brought out of the house by 4 men. Sue Ellen in black
stood next to Donna and Ray. Despite the problems in her life it was
only right she attended Jocks funeral.
A single white rose
lay on the casket as it was slid into the back of the hearse. JR , Gary
and Bobby escorted Ellie behind the hearse and into a black limousine.
Lucy looked at Valene and walked over to Pamela who gently hugged her.
Punk Anderson and his wife Mavis walked over to their car. As the hearse
drove away, Miss Ellies car followed slowly behind. The rest of the
family gathered into their limousines. The procession of cars made their
way across Southfork land emphasizing a dramatic moment in the life
of the Ewing family. A moment that had been long in coming.
Scene fades to black.
The
Ewing family and friends sat gathered around somberly as the Reverend
read from his Holy Book.
"We are gathered
here on this day to pay our respects to Jock Ewing. We can never understand
the ways nor reasons of God. But, for comfort and hope, let us turn
our thoughts to His Word. God cares for us even when we don't deserve
it. He is a God of sympathy and understanding. He knows our hurts and
loneliness. He knows how we feel. The Bible tells us that He knows our
sorrows and records our tears. If He takes the time to see our tears
then He knows why they fall from our eyes."
Miss Ellie sat emotionless,
JR shifted in his chair uncomfortable with the word of God.
As the reverend
continued his words of god and spoke of Jock , Lucy remembered her grandfather
and could help but feel uncomfortable with the words of a man who had
never met Jock Ewing.
The reverend beckoned
Miss Ellie to the front of the Service. Assisted up by Bobby she walked
to the front, she stopped and turned to look down at the coffin, its
metal clasps of gold shining in the midday sun.
She looked up at
the family and smiled "Jock went missing
over twenty years ago and for all those years I have felt him close
to me, drenched in this land that he loved so very much. Today isn't
so much a time for tears but a time for remembering what a good man
he was, a strong man and that this family was built on his strength.
Its also a day for Justice and that those responsible for his death
are exposed. Its not for revenge, its for Jock, he didn't deserve to
die alone and so now we can say good bye with dignity. Jock is home
at Southfork, I feel hes finally at peace"
Miss Ellie took
a breath and stood next to the coffin. "good-bye Jock" she
gently whispered laying a single hand on top of the casket.
The scene fades to black.
