Hilary got on her radio "Ok shes left the building, pick up time boys"
Hilary watched and smiled taking a bite from her sandwich starting up the engine.Anita got into her car and closed the door, securing her seatbelt, she heard a tap on her car window she looked up to see Hilary and two other Police men with her. Anita wound down her window.

"Yes can I help you?" Anita asked.

"Im Detective Monroe, Dallas department" Hilary stated with authority showing her badge.

"What is this about?" Anita asked.

"Are you Anita Smithfield?" Hilary asked emotionless

Anita nodded and asked what the problem was.

"Your under arrest Miss Smithfield, a hit a run accident on Braddock Highway," Hilary explained

Anita shook her head and laughed at this absurd statement.

"This is a joke right?" Anita asked.

"I don`t see putting a poor woman on life support a joke Miss Smithfield, Im alarmed you see this is funny at all"

Anita looked at the two other men who stood glaring at her.

Hilary Monroe continued "We have several eye witnesses"

One of the policeman walked to the front of the car. "This car has a dent on the front panel" he said.

Anita got out the car. "My car does not have a dent" Anita explained.

The policeman took a step back, the 6ft 2 man lifted his booted foot into the air , slamming it with almighty force on the front bumper.

Anita looked startled and was now beginning to feel scared. Hilary walked around to the front of the car. "Looks like a bump to me" Hilary said. The Policeman agreed "maybe the sort of bump you get when you run someone down" he said.

"What is this? "Anita asked, her heart was beating rapidly "who are you?" she asked.

Hilary walked over to her "I told you honey, now your boring me, arrest her, take her in"

Anita shouted out for the them to stop, the two policeman restrained her and pushed her into the back of the police car

Hilary stood watching taking another large bite on her sandwich.

The hot wind blew hard swirling dust particles up into the air in a small town in Arizona. Ratigan sat in his car smoking a cigarette. He parked outside a small store which was closed, across the road a farm was being pulled down as a large bulldozer crushed the building. The door of the store opened and Ratigan got out the car and walked across the street into the store. An elderly man stood stacking shelves.

"Can I help you?" the man asked.

"I sure hope so sir" Ratigan replied taking a photo of Pam from his pocket.

"Have you know this woman?" Ratigan asked.

The man looked at the photo quickly then looked back up at Ratigan.

"Maybe whos asking?" the man inquired suspiciously.

"A close friend of her families we`ve been looking for her for some time, her mother is very sick and wants to see her" Ratigan explained, every word an utter lie.

The man smiled. "Well she never mentioned a mama to me" he said.

Ratigans eyes lit up. "So you do know her?" he asked.

"I know Pammy, sure, nice woman, quiet but pleasant, shes been gone from these parts for some months now so I guess I can`t help you" The man carried on stacking the shelves.

"Well do you know where she lived? Or if she had any friends" Raitigan pried further.

"No friends to speak of, but she lived just over there, in that farm" The man said as he continued to stack the shelves.

Ratigan glimpsed out the store window as the bulldozer crushed another piece of the building.

"She did have one friend, a man by the name of Jake Walker, but he left here a while back, apart from that she had the odd visit from some woman, quite rich lookin, " The man said, then looked up at Ratigan and continued "now thats all I can help you with, I don`t know who you are sir, but thats all "

Ratigan thanked the man, then walked out of the store and lit another cigarette and thoughtfully watched the farm.

Bobby sat in the Southfork kitchen , he was deep in thought, remembering days gone by. His old life with Pamela and how happy they had been. His pain when she left and his confusion now she was back in his life. Miss Ellie walked in and poured herself a coffee.

"You ok mama?" Bobby asked

"I`m fine" she smiled walking over to the table and sitting down to face her youngest son.

"But are you?" she asked.

Bobby smiled awkwardly looking down " I guess so" he said quietly.

Miss Ellie knew him so well, she could feel his pain like it was her own.

"You have to give it time Bobby, Pamela has been through an awful lot and I know you have to" She said wisely.

Bobby looked up at her, his eyes tearful.

"I know" he said " But she just won`t tell me about that time, about where shes been and why, and whatever it is its making her feel so far away, and everyday that passes I feel her drifting again, I feel like I`m loosing her again"

Miss Ellie reached out a squeezed her sons hand.

"Then you have to be strong Bobby, if you want this to work with Pam, then you can`t push her, the more you push, the further away she`ll be, Pam has changed, and you may not like that, but shes a survivor and so are you, things can`t be like they were, but if you can`t wait, then you`ll have to let her go" Ellie explained truthfully with a factual hardness in her tone.

Bobby looked down and took a breath "I just love her so much mama, shes like a part of me"

Ellie smiled "I know".

Christopher walked into the kitchen.

Bobby greeted his son.

"Im just off out , just wanted you to know I`d be back late, so can you tell mom" Chris explained.

Bobby smiled "sure no problem, you seeing Becky?"

Christopher pulled a face " No way, that girl is crazy"

Bobby laughed. Christopher made his goodbyes then left.

"Hes grown up so fast" Ellie said laughing

"Yes he has" Bobby looked deep in thought again.

Pamela sat behind her desk in Ewing Oil and looked through a stack of papers, her phone rang.

"Pamela Ewing?" she said answering the phone. "Ok put them through"

Pamela expression became concerned, almost horrified.

"Whats happened?" she asked. "A man? " there was a pause as she listened to the caller.

"Did he say anything?" she asked. Again she paused. "Ok thankyou so much, I`ll be in touch" Pamela hung up, then picked the phone up again and frantically phoned a number. She waited for the person to answer.

"Hello its me " she said, her breathing was heavy.

"We need to meet, theres trouble, we have a problem and big problem someone is in Arizona and they are asking a lot of questions, I need to see you, and today. "

Pam hung up the phone and took a breath.
