The Ewing Building stood tall and strong , the sun reflected off its windows. Sue Ellen, dressed in a smart suit and carrying a briefcase walked towards the lobby and entered the building.
Several stopped at her present "good morning Mrs Ewing" came from several people as she walked towards the lift. The lift door opened and Sue Ellen entered, as the doors shut.

Frank the elderly lift attendant stood with her as he activated the lift to move several floors

"Its going to be a scorcher of a day Mrs Ewing" Frank stated.

Sue Ellen laughed "Thankgod for air conditioning " she continued to smile at him as the lift doors opened. Sue Ellen got out and continued to walk towards the offices, people again stood around "Hello Mrs Ewing" "Good morning Mrs Ewing"

Two women stood together as Sue Ellen strode past them.

"Is that the owner" one of the woman asked.

"Sure is, Mrs Sue Ellen Ewing, "the other woman replied.

"She looks harmless" the women suggested

The other woman frowned,

"honey from what Iv heard never mess with a Ewing, she may look like a pussy cat but shes got one hell of a bite"

Sue Ellen entered the Ewing Offices. The words Ewing Oil Company were engraved on the door in gold glistening text, a logo Sue Ellen had designed personally,

Sabrina sat behind the reception, "hello Sue Ellen" she said as Sue Ellen walked in.

"Good morning Sabrina" Sue Ellen smiled back.

Sue Ellen carried on walking, the secretaries sat behind their desks. Sue Ellen secretary was Dean, in his early thirties he had proven to be a great asset to the company in many ways.

Dean stood up as Sue Ellen walked in " Hello Sue Ellen" he said smiling.

Sue Ellen ignored his greeting "Is Inspector Monroe here?" she asked

"Waiting in your office Sue Ellen" Dean answered

Sue Ellen smiled asking for a pot of coffee to be brought in, she then walked towards her office, she stopped and turned back to look at Dean.

"By the way Dean, its Mrs Ewing," She then turned and walked into her office.

Dean looked over at Sabrina and rolled his eyes as Sabrina sat giggling.

In Sue Ellens office sat a middle aged, slightly overweight woman.

"Hello Hilary, how are you?" Sue Ellen asked as she put down her case and sat behind her desk.

"Just fine Sue Ellen" Hilary answered in her deep Texan accent.

"Do you have anything for me?" Sue Ellen asked.

Hilary took out a notepad, at which point the office door opened. Dean came in and placed a pot of coffee on the table. Sue Ellen thanked him as he left the room.

"Well Anita studied at the University of Law down in Austin, from there she travelling around Europe for sometime, coming back to Texas where she began work with her Uncle Harv Smithfield, she knows how to party and has not really had many men friends but apart from that not a great deal" Hilary read from her pad, then closed it.

Sue Ellen swung around her chair to look out at the Dallas skyline.

"Well I need that woman, shes the key, shes JR`s little associate, his new side kick, shes his source of information and for that I admire her, but I want her and if you can`t find anything on her, then make some up, you know what to do" Sue Ellen said, with a slight viciousness in her voice.

Sue Ellen swung back around on her chair to face Hilary.

Hilary nodded "yes Sue Ellen, I`ll take care of it, by the way hows your boy?"

Sue Ellen smiled. "Very well thankyou, hes back from College next week"

Hilary and Sue Ellen chatted for a few moments about their families, Hilary left. Sue Ellen sat in her office alone looking out over the city.

`BARNES WENTWORTH` was the sign that was placed over door by two workmen at the New Ofiices in Dallas. Cliff stood with a bottle of champagne which he popped open and laughed as the champagne raged out. He stood at his new offices, the New Barnes Wentworth that he had resurrected with the encouragement of his wife Afton and daughter Pamela. Afton and Pamela stood by his side.

"This is great" Cliff smiled with such enthusiasm handing his daughter and wife a glass.

"Becky you going to have some ?" Cliff asked Pamela. Pamela had been named Pamela Rebecca, firstly after Pam , Cliffs sister and Rebecca , Cliffs mother who Afton had shared such affection for. Somehow along the way the family had began to refer to her as Becky, perhaps the aspect of having two Pamelas made life somewhat confusing, but `Becky` was quite happy with her nickname.

Becky took the glass and smiled. "Speech?" asked Afton.

"Yes ok well, I would like to propose a toast, to the opening of the New Barnes Wentworth,

may it be tribute to my great father, and mother, god rest their souls," Cliff raised his glass and looked up to the ceiling. He then continued "will it also be a legacy, a Barnes legacy, for my beautiful daughter, and generations to come."

Becky went to raise her glass. "Wait" said Cliff "I have yet to finish" He laughed.

Becky looked at him " well I would like to get out of here at some point" She laughed.

Cliff continued "well alls I wanted to say that this is a great day for me, mainly because I have you both with me, I am the luckiest man on earth to have my wife, and my daughter and for that I thank you both" Cliff raised his glass."To us" He said.

Becky and Afton repeated this and drank their champagne.

Cliff walked over to Afton "I love you" he said kissing her forehead.

"I love you too" Afton said back. "And you didn`t even mention how once how bad the Ewings are" Afton laughed.

Afton began to cough. "Will you excuse me a second" she asked as she tried to clear her throat.

Afton went to leave the office as Beckys mobile phone rang. Cliff went and directed a work man where to place a table.

Becky walked over with her phone out of her fathers earshot. "What is it?" She asked the caller. Her voice changed to one of seriousness and confidence. "Ok I`ll meet you later, money is no problem, just sort it out"

Afton stood in the bathroom coughing, she was infront of the mirror, she took a tissue out of her bag and began coughing into it. She looked down at the blood stained tissue.

She stared into the mirror.

Cliff sat behind his desk with a grin that seemed to light up his whole face. Becky replaced her phone back into her bag. "Daddy im out of here, thanks for the champagne" She said as she tossed her long blonde hair over her shoulder, her tight short dress exposing her slimline figure.

Afton walked back in, she seemed distant, trying her hide her worries, her concern, her pain.

Becky gave her mum a kiss and made her good-byes

"You will be back later won`t you? For the party?" Afton asked.

"Of course mom, but I have to go now" with that statement Becky left.

Cliff was so involved in his new business he did not notice the concern that Afton was showing.

The Ewing Building stood tall and powerful against the backdrop of the City of Dallas.

Pamela walked into the reception area, she looked around. Though she had been there many times since her return, today she was looking at it through different eyes. The eyes of co-owner of Ewing Oil.

Sue Ellen walked out to greet her. Sue Ellen smiled that knowing smile Pam knew so well.

"Pam, come through let me show you your office" Sue Ellen stated with excitement that her friend from old was joining in the world of Oil.

Pam followed Sue Ellen through to the new office.PAMELA EWING was marked out on the door is gold lettering. The office was spacious, brightly lit and with a view from the window that overlooked the city.

"Well what do you think ?" Sue Ellen asked smiling.

Pam raised her eyebrows "Its great, its really great".

"Here, come with me" Sue Ellen said taking Pamelas hand and taking her over to her desk and chair.

"Now sit, I want to see what you look like " Sue Ellen asked laughing.

Pam let out a large smile as she sat behind the desk.

"Feels great doesn`t it?" Sue Ellen said, the feelings of power penetrating her every word.

Pam became serious "It feels great" She said remembering JR`s threat.

"Welcome to Ewing Oil Pamela, we are going to be number one and nobody is going to stop us, not JR, not anyone" Sue Ellen stated.

Pam laughed "JR is not going to make life easy for us, especially with me here, but I can handle JR"

"Thats all I wanted to hear" Sue Ellen said."but we need to sort you out a secretary"

Pam looked at her and again raised her eyebrows "I believe I met yours, quite a man"

Sue Ellen giggled like a small girl "Well he annoys JR so was worth it and his shorthand is quite good too, and with the added bonus of the immense pleasure I get at telling a man what to do, you should try its guaranteed to make you feel good"

Pam smiled "well if you don`t mind I`ll pass on that, Id rather have a female, I`d feel more comfortable"

Sue Ellen picked up that perhaps there was something wrong , "Is everything ok Pam?" she asked.

Pam stood up from the desk, "yes of course, " she said with some hesitation. "If my daddy could see me now, I know exactly what he`d say `give those Ewings hell Pammy`" Pam laughed.

Sue Ellen smiled "Im so glad your here, I missed you Pam, "

Sue Ellen went over and took Pams hands.

"Well Im glad to be here" Pam stated. There was a second of silence. A silence filled with 20 years of friendship, a knowing and caring friendship that had developed between the two women.

"Anyway "Sue Ellen said breaking the emotional pause " the one person Id love to be able to see us right now is JR"

"Now that would be a sight" Pam stated

"And I know exactly what he`d say, something along the lines of that tramp ex wife of mine and that damn Barnes woman" Sue Ellen giggled again, covering her mouth.

Pam laughed

At Westar Oil, Anita poured herself a drink then put her shirt on over a naked body, which she removed during another sexual encounter with JR.

JR adjusted his tie "that damn Barnes woman" JR stated with a thoughtful venom.

"What is this big issue with this Pam person?" Anita asked

"For a smart woman that is a dumb question, her father Digger Barnes, and that ass brother of hers Clifford have been a thorn in my families side since as long as I can remember. Digger is now dead of course, but Bobby when a head and fell in love with her and brought her home, that was over twenty years ago, then she had some car accident" JR explained.

Anita interrupted

"I heard about that accident, some years ago now" Anita stated

JR nodded "well after that she vanished, for 11 long years, and then a few months back , like some bad penny she shows up, no one knows wheres shes been or who with, and on top of that shes returned with an unacceptable attitude and a place at Ewing Oil"

Anita listened carefully "So your hoping ratigan will dig some dirt on her, where shes been"

"Exactly Anita, and he better find some, because if he doesn`t we just gonna have to make some up" JR stated, rubbing Anitas arm. "Your a fine woman Anita"

Anita smiled then explained she had to leave telling JR to call her as soon as he heard any news from Ratigan. JR nodded to her, then sat behind his desk.

Anita left the West Star building, Hilary , a Detective of the Dallas Police Department, also on Sue Ellens pay role sat in her car and watched as Anita left the building.
