JohnRoss
lay asleep in his hospital bed. Becky walked in and stood at the door
watching him.
She walked over to his bed. She sat by him and stroked his head.
JohnRoss woke up
and smiled.
"Becky"
he said
Becky smiled at
him, her eyes tearful.
"Hi There"
she said.
"I wondered
where you were" he said.
"Lets just
say your dad didn`t make me very welcome" she replied.
Johnross looked
down "Im sorry about that" He looked back up at her "I
heard about your mom, is she ok?"
Becky smiled "yes
shes, fine now, it has been a awful few days, it suddenly felt like
my whole world came crashing down around me" she explained.
There was an awkward
silence.
"Johnross maybe
this isn`t the time but I have to say, Im sorry about what happened,
I was wrong. I should not have given into your father but I just saw
this endless fight and to be honest thats all I still see, but despite
that I want you, and I won`t give you up, this whole situation has made
me realise just how much I need you, how much I love you and nobody
including JR Ewing is going to keep us apart" she said then looked
into his eyes.
JohnRoss smiled.
"I was hoping you`d say that, we won`t ever loose what we have"
"They will
fight us JohnRoss, like they did my aunt Pam, but like her I will fight
"
Becky said seriously.
JohnRoss moved closer
to her, he rubbed his nose aganist hers and laughed like a child.
"I love you
Becky" he smiled and kissed her.
Sue Ellen walked
towards the door, she saw Becky and her son kissing. She watched for
a moment, smiled to herself and walked away to leave them alone.
Becky pulled away
"a new time is coming JohnRoss for all ofl our families and they
will just have to accept that"
Johnross nodded
"well I have an idea Becky, if you agree..........and if everything
works out they will have no choice but to accept you in my life"
JohnRoss smiled,
Becky looked back intrigued.
Miss
Ellie sat at the Southfork dinner table deep in thought, Bobby reached
the bottom of the stairs, Miss Ellie looked up spotting him.
"Bobby"
she called in a concerned manner.
Bobby look around
and walked into the Dining room.
"Mama, you
ok?" he asked.
"Im fine, Bobby,
could you close the doors for a moment and sit down" Miss Ellie
requested.
Bobby pulled the
shutters together which seperated the dining area from the hall.
Bobby walked over
and sat down.
"What is it?
" Bobby asked.
Miss Ellie took
a breath, and rubbed her forehead.
"Its Lucy"
she announced.
Bobby looked confused
"has something happened?" Bobby asked.
Miss Ellie shook
her head.
"No, and maybe
thats the problem, Lucy lacks direction, she always has, but she needs
something, some stability" Ellie said.
Bobby smiled. "I
can see that, but isn`t that Lucys choice, she seems happy enough"
he stated.
Miss Ellie shook
her head again.
"No Bobby,
shes not happy, shes not happy at all, I feel it, and I see it on her
face. You know Lucy, shes not the type to wear her feelings in public,
she seems to shrug her problems off, and life seems like one big joke,
but inside is something very dfferent, she needs a home, she needs her
roots and thats here. She loves this ranch, its in her blood, like its
in mine and Gary`s. Lucy has that passion" Miss Ellie said smileing.
Bobby looked at
his mother intently "what are you getting at mama?" he asked.
Miss looked down
then back up at Bobby, almost child like, embaressed by the question,
she smiled.
"I want Lucy
to run Southfork, Bobby I want you to give Lucy half of this ranch"
she said directly.
Bobby paused and
looked at his mother.
Sue
Ellen sped along the highway in her mercedes. Her car phone rang.
"Hello.......yes
Im on my way, meet me there" Sue Ellen said aggressively hanging
up the phone and smiling an evil smile that even JR would of been envious
of.
JR
walked into Westar and walked into his office, Anita sat in his chair.
"JR where the
hell have you been ?"Anita asked.
JR threw his stetson
down in an aggressive fashion.
"I was about
to ask you the same question" he stated. "What the hell has
been going on around here" he asked.
Anita stood up "I
have no idea JR, im your attorny not your financial advisor, but I heard
theres some kind of takeover bid" she stated.
"I don`t know
if thats what it is, alls I know is that large amounts of shares have
been purchased" he explained.
"Enough for
a seat on the board?" she asked
JR sat down in his
chair.
"I don`t think
so but I don`t like the feeling im getting from this," he said.
Anita walked over
to him and rubbed his neck.
"Do you have
any names of people who purchased the shares?" she asked seriously.
JR sighed "hell
no Iv never heard of these places, Cugar Mining, Rickett and Coleman,
to name but a few" he said.
Anita walked around
to face him.
"Do you think
there is a connection?" Anita asked curiously pushing her hair
back.
JR stood up "I
hope not, other wise I could have a battle on my hands" he stated.
"Well I`ll
see what I can find out" Anita stated smileing.
JR laughed "You
know Anita iv said it before, but your one hell of a woman, I don`t
know what Id do without you" he grinned strokeing her arm.
Aniata smiled. "Well
Im sure find out soon enough, your board meeting is in 30 minutes"
She smiled like
she had a secret and JR was last to know.
Miss
Ellie stood by a lake a Southfork, she looked out over the vast land
,1000 acres in all that seemed to go on like a never ever ending blacket
of green and yellow.
Miss Ellie stood
and looked down into the lake, she saw her reflection, in her heart
she would always be young but Ellie saw this elderly woman looking back
at her. Ellie remembered her life at Southfork. She walked over to a
three grave stones, that had decayed with age.
The headstone read
the name Aarron Southworth, Barbara Southworth and Garrison Southworth.
Ellie thought for
a moment as she remembered her parents and her brother Garrison, now
all gone, ghosts of the past and times gone by that could never be relived.
She walked over
to the gravestone of her father she rubbed the stone and gently smiled.
"Southfork
will be in safe hands" she said gently as a cool light breeze brushed
aganist her hair.
She stayed for a
while and was comforted by her memories of her youth, memories that
at the time seemed so irrelevant, moments that felt like they would
never end but now memories of the past of a young woman who lived on
a ranch called Southfork.
Bobby
walked into the Ranch, he wiped beads if sweat from his forehead. Lucy
walked over to him dressed in a suit.
"Hi Bobby"
she said.
"Where you
going all dressed up?" he asked.
Lucy smiled "I
have some business I have to take of in town, by the way Pam says can
you go up as soon as you get in" she said.
Bobby nodded "Ok
now have fun doing whatever it is your doing" he smiled.
"Oh I will
" Lucy said with a huge grin on her face.
Lucy walked out
onto the drive way, Charlie walked over to her.
"You all set
to go?" Lucy asked taking out her car keys.
"You bet I
am" Charlie stated.
