Anita Smithfield walked along the highstreet, she passed a newspaper vendor.
She stopped and gave the man some money and took the paper. She opened it.

The headline read "Westar Stock tumbles".

Anita smiles smugly.

"I would like to be a fly on the wall when JR sees this one" Anita said under her breath

The vendor looked at her "sorry miss?"

"Oh nothing" Anita replied smiling.

At the hospital Sue Ellen stood and rubbed her head, Becky sat on the chair drinking a coffee as JR paced the corridor.

"What the hell are those doctors doing?" JR stated in his frustration.

At that point a doctor walked along the corridor, Becky stood up and went over to him.

"What the hell is going on?" JR asked.

The doctor smiled "Mr Ewing your son is in recovery now, he had a punctured lung and some internal bleeding which we have managed to stabilize, he should be just fine"

Sue Ellen sighed with relief "thankgod" she said.

"Can I see my boy?" JR asked.

The doctor told JR he would have to wait, but the nurse would inform him as soon as it was possible. The doctor left.

"I really want to see him" Sue Ellen said pushing her fingers through her hair.

JR turned to her viciously.

"Your not going anywhere near my son" he stormed

"I will see our son" Sue Ellen stated

JR smiled "I don't think so"

At that point 2 men dressed in security uniform walked down the corridor followed by Ratigan.

Becky saw Ratigan and shook her head "and what do we have here JR? Your mini Mafia?"

JR turned to Becky "when I want your opinion Miss Barnes, I`ll ask"

Sue Ellen looked at the men then back to JR "what's going on JR?" she asked.

JR smiled "well now my sons out of danger and I want to keep it that way, you nearly cost me my son Sue Ellen and that is unforgivable"

Sue Ellen paused and shook her head "This isn't like before JR, John Ross is not a child and you can't keep me away from him"

JR walked over to her "You don't have a choice Sue Ellen, you wanted it like this"

Sue Ellen looked at him "No JR, no , no I didn't"

JR looked down "Oh well you did, you wanted a war and now you got one. Get her out of my sight"

The two security men walked over to Sue Ellen.

"Come on Mrs Ewings, lets go" one of the men said placing his hand on Sue Ellens arm.

Sue Ellen pulled away "get your lousy hands off me" she yelled.

Becky walked over to the men "let go of her"

JR stood watching "lets not have a scene now, this is a hospital afterall" he said.

Ratigan walked over to Becky "you know Miss, I don`t like how we keep bumping into each other like this, I don`t like it at all, I warned you before to stay away" he said

Becky looked at him with hatred and then at JR "I owe you, I owe you both....big time. And JohnRoss wasn`t laying in a hospital bed, then you`d get it, but I`ll tell you this Mr Ewing you better watch your back, because one day....when you least expect it.....one day" Becky said aggressively.

JR looked at Ratigan "I do believe this girl is threatening me" JR said

Sue Ellen shook her head "JR leave her alone"

Becky smiled "Im sorry, Sue Ellen, I feel sorry for you and for JohnRoss, it couldn`t of been easy. You know I always thought my daddy was exaggerating, but now I see he barely even dented the surface, you are disgusting" Becky walked off , she stood for a moment and turned back to face JR.

"How much did you get JR?" she asked.

"Whats that?" JR asked

"When you sold your soul" she answered. There was a brief silence then Becky continued to walk.

"Do you get the feeling she doesn't like me?" JR said smiling.

He turned to Sue Ellen "now Sue Ellen are you going to follow in the footsteps of that Barnes girl ?" he asked

Sue Ellen pulled away from the men "You know JR, you really are a fool"

She held her glare then walked away.

JR watched her walk away.

Sue Ellen reached the outside of the hospital and broke down in tears.

Bobby, Lucy and Christopher walk down the hospital corridor, Bobby rushes over to JR.

"JR what's happening? Hows JohnRoss?" Bobby asked with a concerned look.

JR looked down acting concerned "well Bob hes out of danger, but we don`t know what the situation is for sure"

"What happened?" Bobby asked

"What happened? I`ll tell you what happened. Sue Ellens what happened, Sue Ellen and that Barnes girl" JR stated

Christopher lent forward "Becky?" he questioned.

"Yeah thats the one, anyhow shes been leading John Ross astray if you get my drift, manipulating John Ross with the idea of cozy nights in bed and god knows what else" JR continued.

Christopher looked at Lucy with eyes of surprise, Lucy raised her eyebrows.

"Ok JR but that doesn't explain the accident" Bobby said.

"Anyhow Johnross went and asked the girl to marry him, god help him and the rest of us, when I found out we went over to stop this little farce, JohnRoss got all upset and drove off, I told her Bobby, I told Sue Ellen to leave him alone, but no, she had to go chasing after him, the next thing John Ross has gone off the road" JR explained.

Bobby shook his head "and where is Sue Ellen now?"

"As far away from here as possible, I don`t want her near my boy" JR explained.

Lucy looked down and then looked up at JR "did she have a choice JR?" she asked sternly.

"I hold Sue Ellen fully responsible for this, and whatever consequences come from this and she bought them on herself" JR stated coldly.

Lucy shook her head "Im sorry Iv had enough of this crap" Lucy said, walking away and sitting down.

Bobby looked at JR in disbelief.

Becky arrived home, she saw a police car parked outside, she spotted it and ran up the path, she got out her key and ran inside. Cliff sat with two police officers, Cliff got up when Becky walked in.

"Whats happened" ? Becky asked.

Cliff looked at her.

"Have you heard from your mother?" Cliff asked.

"No , not since this morning......, why? Whats going on" she asked concerned.

Cliff shook his head as he walked over to Becky and held her hands.

"Your mother is missing, she never came home" Cliff explained.

Becky looked shocked.

Tony sat in Katherines motel room smoking a spliff playing VH1.

Afton sat on the chair opposite, looking at him. She gritted her teeth and held her stomach.She looked down at his gun that sat on on the table. He flicked his spliff into the ashtray that sat next to the gun.

"Don`t you just love cable" he stated rocking his head forward to the song, closing his eyes.

Afton looked on as the TV flickered lighting up the dimly lit room.

He snapped his eyes open, he took the spliff out the ash tray and offered some to Afton.

"No thanks" Afton stated cooly.

"You don`t smoke this shit?" he asked.

"Not if I can help it" she stated.

He smiled and closed his eyes and rocked. "Man I love this song, it was in that film too, what was that now.....oh yeah Full Metal Jacket" he said.

"Platoon" Afton said.

"Whats that?" he asked.

"It was in Platoon that song was in Platoon" she said smugly

"Gee you think your so damn smart don`t you? Huh.....well you aint that smart or you would`nt be sitting here now......think about that" he laughed.

Afton looked at him sternly "are you going to kill me?" she asked.

Tony laughed.

"Now what kind of question is that Afton, but lets have some honesty here shall we? Would you like that? For some reason I feel I can be honest with you and god knows that we hardly know each other, but to be honest with you, like I was saying, well yeah I`m gonna kill you I guess, think about it, you know that Katherine bitch is crazy, I don`t know what you did to get her so mad like that but boy, she hates your guts. But you know don`t get don`t get feeling all special now, your not the only one , from what I gather......... and now this is between you and me.....she has a few people shes mad with" He laughs again taking a lug on his spliff.

Afton looks at him, she sits forward, then sits back.

"You know this is crazy, none of it makes any sense, its just not even a rational plan" she says.

He smiles slyly. "Rational? Don`t bring rationale into this. You know thats your problem, your thinking in a rational fashion, applying sense to a senseless situation. You know if you continue like that your bound to drive yourself crazy" He stood and swayed to the music.

He looked at the gun then at Afton. He smiled at her.

"You want it? " he asked as he danced on the spot to the music.

"Go on take it" he said

Afton looked at the gun, then at him.

"I`ll tell you what, I`ll make it easy for you, this could be your only hope, you miss this opportunity, your missing on a chance of living, so I`ll help you abit, I`ll turn away ok, and while my back is turned you try and get the gun, ok now don`t thank me" He laughed.

Afton looked at him and swallowed. The TV played an old classic song.

"Ok lets play " he said "im now I`m going to turn away" He turned swaying to the music.

Afton looked at him breathing heavily, she closed her lips tightly. She looked at him with his back to her. She plunged forward and grabbed the gun from the table and sat shaking pointing the gun at him. He looked around laughing "Oh please don`t shoot me, I surrender officer Afton" he said in a feeble sarcastic voice, then burst out laughing. He then reached in his pockets and pulled out the ammunition and shook it in his clasped hand.

"You know I think you would of shot me" he said in a serious tone. " and that does not please me at all" .

Afton looked shocked and scared.

The TV continued to play the tune.
