At
Katherines hotel room , Afton is still searching. She looks under the
bed and pulls out a case. She tried to open it but it is locked.
Katherine
pulls up at a petrol garage and looks in her bag. "Damn I left
my purse" she mutters. She turns the car around and starts heading
back for the hotel.
Afton finds
a dinner knife and begins to prise open the case, she struggles with
it for a while then the case pops open. Afton opens it and sees some
papers and underneath them she finds a small book. She opens it and
begins to read it.
"Oh my word" Afton says under her breath astonished at what
she has found.
Katherine
walks into the hotel and walks towards her hotel room, as she takes
out her key she hears a noise from the room. She opens her bag and takes
out a small hand gun.
Katherine
opens the door and walks in. Afton looks up startled.
Katherine
smiles "well well what a surprise....Afton!!"
Afton stands
up holding the book "Your crazy, your damn well crazy Katherine".
Katherine
pulls the door shut.
Katherine
smirks "you are rather a curious little cat aren't you and we all
know what happened to that"
Afton stands
her ground "please Katherine, Im not into clichés, but I
sure like a good read"
Katherine
walked over to her "don't you know its rude to read other peoples
diaries, but then again I guess it depends on how a person is brought
up "
Afton shook
her head "not peoples, yours, your diary"
Afton went
to walk past Katherine. Katherine grabbed her arm.
"You
made a very big mistake Afton" Katherine declares.
Katherine
points the gun into Aftons face and gently presses the tip into Aftons
cheek.
"I
have a plan to carry out, I have waited years, I have lived for this,
I have waited for this, and I will not have you come and ruin it for
me" Katherine declares
Afton takes
a breath and Katherine's face is filled with anger and hate a consequence
of years of twisted hate which was now more deadlier then ever before.
Becky
walks alone in the shopping mall, she carries some bags. Ratigan, JR`s
detective walks over to her, with two other men.
"Excuse me" he calls. He shows her his badge "Your under
arrest lady for theft".
Becky looks
shocked "what?" she yells.
The man
pull her out of the store to the empty parking lot.
"This
is crazy, this is a mistake" she yells at them
Ratigan
smiles "sure is a mistake, yours"
Becky looks
at him aggressively. The other men take her bag and pull out a small
bag of cocaine.
"Well
will you look at this" he says.
Becky swallows
"thats not mine"
Ratigan
laughs "sure it is, I know miss that you have been a user in the
past, I guess your still a user"
Becky shakes
her head "I don`t use that crap anymore, this is a set up"
Ratigan
walked closer to her "what ever it is, I have a warning for you,
stay away from the Ewings, any of em, for your own sake. If I see you
anywhere near them next time I`ll charge you"
He smiles
then goes to walk away. Becky looks furious, she runs up to Ratigan
and begins to attack him, she hits him in the face and scratches his
face. The other two men hold her back and Ratigan slaps her around the
face.
"Don`t
mess with me Miss, you`ve been warned" he states
The two
men throw Becky onto the ground and they leave with Ratigan.
Becky stands
up holding her face "Bastards" she yells.
Sue
Ellen drives up the ranch next to Southfork. She gets out her car and
stands and looks around then walks up to the door and enters.
She walks
in and puts her brief case down. She hears a noise from the lounge and
walks in and sees JohnRoss sitting down.
"Hi
mom" he says somberly.
Sue Ellen
smiles and walks over to him.
"How
do you like the house?" she asks.
He looks
around "its ok, at least your not too far away" he smiles.
Sue Ellen
sits down next to him "Im sorry JohnRoss, but I had to leave, but
I wasn`t leaving you" she says.
JohnRoss
nods "I know mom, you don`t need to explain, I sometimes feel that
thats all you and dad have ever done, explain, explain to me why things
don`t work out, so don`t explain now"
Sue Ellen
nods "it was never easy for you was it?"
JohnRoss
smiles and looks down "well lets just say that it could of been
better, I don`t know half of what went on and Id rather not know,"
"You
know your father expects you to take over Ewing Oil" she says.
"Yep
I know, I think thats what he lives for but right now I dont even know
if thats what I want, its been there all my life, like a shadow, every
fight, every conversation was and is about Ewing Oil. About this damn
legacy. I don`t want to spend my life fighting, There was so much out
there you know , There was this whole world" he says looking at
him mother.
Sue Ellen
looks at him and smiles "you seem different, I guess your growing
up,"She touches his hair.
JohnRoss
stands up "well I better go, "
Sue Ellen
looks at him "is something on your mind JohnRoss?" she asks.
Johnross
shakes his head "no maam" he bends forward and kisses
his mother and smiles.
He then
walks out. Sue Ellen sits alone in the house.
Pamela
sits on the patio as a gentle breeze slowly and silently touched her
hair, she was deep in thought contemplating her future. Miss Ellie walked
out and stood and hesitated as she wondered if she should disturb Pam.
Pam turned and spotted Ellie and smiled.
"Hello
Pam" said Ellie sympathetically.
Pam smiled
and squeezed Miss Ellies hand "I wish I knew where Christopher
were" Pam said.
Ellie nodded
"I am sure he is fine Pam, he is finding this all very difficult"
Ellie said,
Pam nodded
"I know" She rubbed her arm "I just feel things are so
messy, I should never have come back, it was a mistake".
Ellie moved
closer to Pam and looked at her closely
"Don`t you ever say that, do you hear me? We are your family and
we love you deeply and you will survive this, you belong here with Bobby
and your son, surrounded by people who care. Its all very nice being
a martyr but right now you need your family and maybe its time to realize
your family needs you too" Ellie said directly
Pam looked
up "God I know that, but I don`t know where to begin, I have lost
so much time with my son and Bobby, where do I start?" Pam turns
to Ellie.
Ellie smiles
and puts her hand on Pams shoulder "from the beginning Pam, thats
where. You love Bobby?" she asks
Pam smiles
"oh yes but I just havn`t told him in a very long time"
Ellie smiled
"well maybe that is somewhere to start".
Bobby
walked out onto the patio. Ellie turned to him and stood up and kissed
Pam on the cheek and walked past Bobby and smiled at him.
Bobby smiled
uncomfortably and sat down next to Pam.
"That
all looked rather secretive "Bobby joked
Pam smiled
"Miss Ellie is a wonderful woman"
"Runs
ins the family" Bobby joked.
Pam laughed
and nodded "I guess it does"
Bobby turned
to her "its good to see you laugh" he said
"Its
good to laugh again, perhaps now this is all out in the open I feel
like a weight has been lifted from my shoulders" Pam said.
Bobby nodded
"It
will all work out Bobby, it will all be fine" she said.
Bobby nodded
"I know"
There was
a silence
"Bobby"
Pam said
"Pam"
Bobby said back smiling
"Bobby
I just want you know that Im sorry about all this"
Bobby put
his finger on her lip
"Don`t
explain, don`t ever say sorry" he whispered.
Pam smiled.
"I
know a lot of things have changed and it may take time, but Bobby.....I
do love you"
Bobby took
a breath
"Oh
Pam, oh I love you too, I love you so much" he said leaning forward
and they began to kiss.
John
Ross walked past them and smiled as he arrived home at Southfork. He
walked into Southfork and began to walk up the stairs. JR walked out
the lounge. JR stood staring at him, there was a silence.
"Something
wrong?" Johnross asked.
"Johnross
will you come down here a minute please" JR demanded
JohnRoss
looked puzzled and walked over to his father. JR stood in front of Jocks
portrait.
"You
see this JohnRoss, this is your blood, and attached to that is a long
long history" JR began to say.
"I
know dad, why are you telling me now?" JohnRoss asked.
"This
man, your granddaddy, built an empire, he sweated blood to create my
future, to build this family a firm base, something no one can touch,
and now JohnRoss, now its your turn, and nothing can interfere with
that" JR stated emotionless.
John Ross
looked confused.
JR took
the photographs of Becky and JohnRoss together from his jacket pocket
and threw them down on the bar.
John Ross
looked at them.
John ross
shook his head "No way" he said.
"Exactly
JohnRoss, No way, that girl is trouble, not only is she a Barnes, but
shes also trash, its time to end this little liaison of yours"
JR stated
Johnross
stood angry. "If you weren't my father..........." Johnross
stopped.
"This
is for your own good JohnRoss" JR stated.
Johnross
laughed "My own good? This is about you, what you want. Well not
this time, I will choose who I want to be with, I will choose who I
want to be and how I live my life"
Johnross
turned to walk away.
"Your
granddaddy built you a life" JR replied
John Ross
stopped and turned "well I didn`t ask for that, I didn`t ask for
any of this, just stay out of my life or you just may loose me again"
Miss Ellie
stood in the hallway watching as John Ross walked past her, he stopped
and kissed her on the cheek and carried on walking out.
Miss Ellie
walked into the lounge.
"What
are you doing JR?" she demanded.
"Hes
my son momma, I`ll do as I see fit" JR replied cooly.
"You`ll
push him away, or you`ll destroy him just like......." Miss Eliie
stopped.
JR turned
to his mother "don`t say it.....don`t compare my son to Gary"
"Your
daddy pushed Gary too far, he turned to drink, he turned away from his
family and I lost him forever.....is that what you want for JohnRoss.....if
nothing else can`t we learn from the past" she said.
"Like
I said Momma I`ll do as I see fit" JR said and walked off.
Miss Ellie
stood alone in the room, she looked emotional as she walked over to
the fireplace where a fire was burning. She looked at the photographs
on the mantelpiece, Clayton, Bobby, Lucy, JR with Sue Ellen, and Gary.
Miss Ellie picked up the photo of Clayton . She put the photo back then
picked up the one of Gary. She looked at it for a moment then walked
over to the portrait of Jock and stood looking at it. She turned and
looked around the empty room as she remembered her past, her family,
her life at Southfork Ranch.
