The Penultimate Episode. The situation at Southfork reaches boiling point with tragic results.

The clock on the wall ticks by as the hands moves slowly around. Bobby sits with his head in his hands as he waits in the police station.

Flashback : Pam and Bobby drive along in their car, the year is 1978 as they drive towards Southfork for Pams first meeting with the Ewings as Bobbys new wife.

Bobby sits again in the police station and looks up and takes a breath.

Flashback : 1978 : Pam opens a box to a new dress as Bobby tells her shes going to Paris, an excited Pam hugs Bobby.

The clock in the police station ticks by.

Pam sits in silence as a policeman sits in front of her and lights a cigarette and slams his fist down on the desk.

Flashback : 1986. Bobby and Pam lay in bed together as Bobby tells Pam a joke, they both burst into laughter.

The clock ticks by at the police station. Another hour as gone by.

Bobby sits and looks up and takes a breath and closes his eyes.

The scene fades out.

Cliff sits behind his desk at Barnes Oil. Afton stands in the office.

Cliff smiles at her "is something on your mind?" he asks her.

Afton looks concerned "Im a little worried about Becky, shes been staying out so much and well she's having a hard time right now".

Afton stops and holds her stomach in pain. Cliff gets up and hurries over to her. "You ok" he asks.

Afton takes a breath and smiles "Im fine" she says lying.

The door to Barnes Oil opens and Katherine walks in.

Cliff and Afton stand stunned.

Katherine smiles "Cliff, Afton, how nice to see you both, its been a long time".

Cliff nods uneasily, Afton looks at Cliff.

Cliff clears his throat "How can I help you Katherine?" he asks.

Katherine walks over to him "well Pam has told you Cliff?" she asks

Cliff looks at her "That you own part of Barnes? Yes I know"

Theres a silence in the room.

Katherine looks around "well Cliff, I must say its good to be back.....after all it was my mother who set you up in good sted"

Cliff smiled "our mother Katherine.....she was my mother too"

Katherine ignored his intervention " well I just thought I would pop by, just to see what state the company was in, I will be taking quite a role here. I hope that doesn`t prove a problem" she says

Cliff looks at her coldly "To be honest Im not happy with Pams decision, but I can live with it" he says.

Katherine smiles, her eyes light up with a devious energy "I hope so Cliff, because you don`t really have a choice". Katherine holds her glare hinged with a wicked smile and turns around to leave.

Afton looks at Cliff and shakes her head and follows Katherine out of the office.

Afton walks up to Katherine in the lobby.

"Katherine" Afton calls out.
Katherine turns "Yes?" she asks.

Afton walks up to her " You know Katherine....you didn`t fool me 15 years ago and you don`t fool me now"

Katherine looks at her and laughs "Afton you are truly pathetic"

Afton looks at her hatefully "I can`t believe Pam is so nieve to think you can change, your a hatful person and Im warning you, you hurt my family or anyone that I care for you will be truly sorry"

Katherine smiles at her "I don`t take kindly to threats,especially from you"

The two women hold a glare.

Afton purses her lips and grits her teeth as she carefully designs her thoughts "Things have changed Katherine, we all know your games, we all know who you are, your cards are marked and I guarantee it won`t be long before Pam wakes up to you too"

Katherine smiles closing her eyes and opening them assertively "You know Afton, the problem is the same problem you always had, no one takes you seriously, think about it....why would they? But I really don`t think you`ll be a problem ........not for much longer"

Katherine smiles and walks off. Afton stands in the lobby watching as Katherine leaves. Afton thinks for a moment then follows Katherine making sure she doesn`t see her.

She watches Katherine get into a car. Afton summons a cab over and gets in. The cab begins to follow Katherines car.

Cliff sits behind his desk filling out some forms. The phone buzzes through to him. He answers it. "What the hell do you want?" he yells down the phone.

There was a pause. He looks stunned "Ok I`ll meet you" he says "where and when?"

Scene cuts.

Anita stands in the elevator of Westar, she looks at her watch and gets out she walks towards JR`s office as he walks out.

"JR" Anita calls to him

JR does not turn to her "Not now Anita" he walks past her. Anita walks into JR`s office and sits behind his desk and feels the power as she looks out over the city.

Paul Miller walks in, head of finance, carrying some papers.

"Has JR left?" he asks "This is urgent".

Anita thinks for a moment. "He just left Paul, but you can leave that with me" she says.

Paul thinks for a moment "Ok but please make sure he gets this Anita, its urgent"

Anita smiles and takes the folder from him, he leaves the office.

Anita sits back in the chair and flicks through the folder and smiles.

She stands up and slips the folder in her bag. She smiles.

Thunder clouds roll over the backdrop of Southfork. Lucy stands on the patio and looks at her watch. Christopher walks out.
Lucy turns to him "no news?" she asks.

Chris looks down "no not a thing, they have been there all night,"

Lucy smiles and takes his hand "it will be ok". Christopher pulls away.

"Will it?" he says "you know, im past careing" he states

He thinks for a moment. "I can`t stay here. I have to go"

Lucy looks at him concerned "to where?"

"Anywhere, I have to get out of here" he says.

Lucy shakes her head "Thats a bad idea Chris, at least wait for your mom and dad to get back"

Chris shook his head "No Lucy, I need some time"

"ok " Lucy said "but at least let me come with you" she said concerned about him

He nodded "ok whatever" he replied

Lucy smiled at him but worried about what he was going through.

JohnRoss and Becky lay by a river looking up at the sky.

"Clouds are amazing don`t you think? So pretty" she asks him

JohnRoss laughs "they look like mountains"

Becky turns to him "do you believe in god JohnRoss?" she asks

JohnRoss laughs "where did that come from?" he states.

She smiles and lays back and looks up at the sky "I just wondered, do you?"

"God? I don`t know what that means, I mean I would like to believe that there was something, but I guess sometimes you have to wonder, I don`t know"he says.

"I don`t believe in god, but then I wonder about fate, and maybe fate is god, but I don`t know. I mean is it fate that I met you? But I was brought up a Catholic, my grandma Arliss, she became quite a strict Catholic just before she died, but sometimes I look to god to explain how I feel" Becky says.

Johnross turns to her "and how do you feel?" he asks.

Becky smiles "Like im crazy sometimes, like I have demons in my head, but when Im with you they seem to disappear, and I feel safe, but im scared to feel safe".

Suddenly there is a clap of thunder and the skies open with rain.

JohnRoss goes to get up. She pulls his hand back "Don`t go JohnRoss, lets stay here" she whispers.

Johnross sits back down and his the rain drips down his face. Becky sits back up and looks at him as droplets of rain fall from her hair, and light up her eyes.

They gaze into each others eyes, he gently wipes the rain from her face. He moves towards her and kisses her. He pulls away and looks at her, she smiles.

"Your so beautiful" he says gently. He holds his gaze. "Oh Becky...." he whispers

A tear runs down her cheek. "Say it JohnRoss, say it" she takes a breath.

He shakes his head and closes his eyes.

He puts his hands on her shoulders and gently pushes her back so he is on top of her. He looks into her eyes as the rain falls.

"What JohnRoss? What JohnRoss? She whispers.

He closes his eyes.

"Please JohnRoss" she says taking heavy breaths as she feels his body touching hers.

JohnRoss opens his eyes and looks at her and whispers "I love you Becky, I love you"

He smiles gently.

A clap of thunder echoes out.

They begin to kiss and he says "I love you"

Becky looks at him "I think Im in loive with you, I want to feel you, make love to me"

They begin to kiss passionately as the rain falls........
