The sun shone hard down on the Ewing building. Sue Ellen entered the Ewing Offices. She looked tired, the strain of the last couple of days had been very difficult for her to bear.
She stopped at the reception "is Pamela in?" she asked.

"No" the receptionist replied. Sue Ellen shook her head and carried on walking until she reached her office. She took her coat off and sat down in her chair and looked out over the city. Her phone buzzed through and she was informed that Peter Edwards had arrived to see her there from First State Bank of Texas. She told her secretary to send him through. He walked into the office.

"Hello Peter its good to see you" she said.

Peter smiled and replied back in a rather sombre manner.

"Can I get you a drink?" Sue Ellen asked.

Peter looked down, and paused. "Im sorry Sue Ellen, I want to make this brief, Iv heard about your recent problems".

Sue Ellen nodded "yes, things are a bit messy right now, but they will be under control".

Peter took a breath "I`ll get to the point Sue Ellen, the First State Bank is calling in its loan".

Sue Ellen stood and glared at the man and charged over to him from behind her desk.

"What the hell do you mean?" She yelled.

Peter took a step back "Im sorry Sue Ellen but we have decided that Ewing Oil is a risky venture and the loan limit is up".

Sue Ellen shook her head "no.........no way.....you can`t do this to me" she said.

Peter again looked down "Thats how it is and right now the financial state of Ewing Oil and its administration is very questionable, and I doubt you`ll find any other bank willing to take such a risk and support your company".

Sue Ellen looked into the mans eyes "What a co-incidence this is.........you bastard.......JR isn`t it? Im right arn`t I?"

"This has nothing to do with JR " he said lying.

"You have 10 days Ms Ewing l, and thats it, im sorry". He walked out.

Sue Ellen stood in the office. She gritted her teeth. "You bastard JR" she muttered under her breath.

Sue Ellen charged out her office slamming the door. She stopped at her secretaries desk

"I want a meeting with the financial department at 3, and make sure everyone is there, no excuses".

She walked out the office with a mighty force.

Cliff sat behind his chair at Barnes Oil. Pam sat with him.

Cliff smiled with a massive grin "you know Pam every time you walk in here or I see you I bless god for having you back" he said.

Pam smiled and kissed his forehead " I missed you too, but I don`t how long your going to feel that way Cliff".

Cliff looked at her puzzled "what do you mean? You don`t need your finances back?"

Pam smiled "no no but that is what I want to discuss because it wasn`t exactly my finances".

Cliff shook his head and put out his arms "don`t tell me its Bobbys?"

Pam stood up "ok now hear me out before you explode , I put a lot of my own money into Ewing Oil and well I had to use someone elses money to finance this venture".

"Who?" Cliff asked.
Pam gritted her teeth "Katherines".

Cliff shook his head "Katherine who?"

Pam did not answer.

Cliff stood up "No no way, our deranged sister? Tell me thats not true?"

Pam looked away "yes, I have been in contact with her for quite a while and despite what you think of her, well shes been good to me, and she is family".

"Katherine" Cliff said and shook his head. "Your telling me im partners with Katherine?"

Pam nodded "Im sorry, but I owe her".

Cliff sat down "Pam......why? I don`t understand, Katherine? She hates me, she hates us all"

Pam walked over to Cliff "I love you Cliff, I know how we grew up, me and you , mama had gone and Digger wasn`t always there, but we had aunt Maggie, but I was thinking about mama, I was thinking about how she came back into our lives, what would she want? Katherine was wrong for what she did but she was mamas daughter, our sister and somewhere I feel that I owe our mother this, to give Katherine a chance, it was all so long ago. Please".

Cliff shook his head "but Katherine? Oh Pam"

Cliff was silent for a moment.

"For mamas sake Cliff, for me.....please give her a chance" Pam asked.

Cliff sat and took a breath and squeezed Pams hand and nodded.

Lucas sat playing in the field as Ray stood on watching. A Car pulled up with Donna and Margaret. Margaret ran out and ran over to Ray and hugged him.

Ray smiled "well hello there,"

"I was hoping to see you daddy" she said.

Ray held her hand "well im sorry Margaret but this has been a very difficult time for me, but that doesn`t mean I don`t love you, because I do".

Donna walked over and took off her sun glasses. "Margaret why don`t you go over to see Lucas, before we go". She said.

Margaret walked over to where Lucas was.

Ray looked over at Donna "You know shes growing up so fast,"

Donna nodded "yep, time flies doesnt it".

"So your leaving now? "Ray asked

"I think its best" she answered "how are you?" she asked

Ray looked down "been better, Charlie came by last night, angry, blaming me, not understanding"

Donna nodded "well its going to be difficult, but you have to deal with this, you have a wonderful son and a daughter that needs you" she explained.

Ray took Donnas hand "I wish you would stay Donna, I need you."

Donna looked him and squeezed his hand "Ray, don`t, I can be many things to you, Im the mother of your child, but you can`t need me, Im sorry, I have another life and you have yours"

Ray nodded "You know Donna I always wonder what might of happened if..."

Donna put her hand to Rays mouth "don`t Ray, don`t spoil this"

They looked at each other for a moment as the ghosts from the past came running back, and for a second they remembered the love they once shared.

Donna turned and called Margaret over and told her it was time to go.

Margaret hugged her father and he told her he would call her soon. Margaret got into the car.

"Take care Ray" Donna said.

Ray took her hand again "Donna do you really have to go?"

Donna closed her eyes and took a breath. She opened them again "good bye Ray" she said and turned and left and got in the car.

Ray watched her as she drove away.
