Southfork
stood grand surrounded by acres of fields, stretching for miles like
a green sea.
Christopher sat on the patio looking out over the fields, the gentle
wind blew his hair slightly amok from his face. He sat and looked out,
wondering how his family were coping right now with the loss of Jenna.
Lucy stood in the Southfork living room talking to Jane. "Can I
get you anything Miss Ewing?" she asked. "No im fine thanks"
Lucy smiled and followed Jane out of the room. Sitting on the stairs
was a young 13 year old girl, with big blue eyes and hair of gold. "you
ok there Margaret" Lucy asked.
Margaret
was the only child of Ray and Donna and she had spent most of her life
living in Washington with her mother and her stepfather Andrew Dowling.
Margaret looked up at Lucy "Im fine" she said in a polite
voice. Lucy sat down with her. "You don`t know me very well do
you? must be odd coming here for you, very different to Washington?"
Lucy said sensitively not knowing how the girl was feeling. "guess
so" Margaret replied walking outside. Lucy raised her eyebrows
and smiled and followed her outside.
JohnRoss
did one more length of the pool and climbed out. He walked over to Christopher.
"Dont you think you should dry off before they get home?"
Christopher asked. Johnross smiled "sure thing wouldn`t want to
give a bad impression" he said sarcastically. Christopher smiled
back sarcastically and stood up. Margaret sat by the pool and Lucy looked
on and glanced at her watch. "I thought they`d be back by now"
she said. Christopher smiled "Im sure they`ll be back soon"
He turned and walked into the house. Johnross thought for a moment and
ran in the house after him "wait up Chris" JohnRoss called.
Christopher stopped and turned.
Johnross walked over to him drying his hair with the towel " Have
you seen that girl, Cliff`s daughter?" he asked trying to be discreet.
Christopher looked down and nodded with a sly smile "don`t bother
Johnross she won`t be interested in you, plus if you got involved with
her....all hell would break loose" Christopher walked off.
JohnRoss
put his hands through his wet hair and walked up the stairs.
Two
black limousines pulled up at the ranch driving through the gates "Southfork"
was written boldly above the gateway. Lucy stood up from the patio chair
as the cars pulled up, Margaret ran over from the side of the pool as
Donna and the Ewings got out. Margaret ran over and hugged her mother.
Donna gave her daughter a big smile "You ok?" she asked "I'm
fine.....I'm just glad your back..." Margaret stated. Donna put
her arm around her and walked her into the house asking how she had
been. Lucy stopped Sue Ellen "no Ray?" she asked. Sue Ellen
shook her head "no he left with Lucas".
Lucy watched
as Pam and Bobby escorted Miss Ellie back into the house.
Pamela
entered the house and walked up the stairs without any emotion, Bobby
looked on, his face filled with concern. "excuse me mamma"
he said to Miss Ellie and he followed Pamela up the stairs.
Pam
was in her room and took off her black jacket to replace it with something
more comfortable. Bobby walked in "You going somewhere?".
Pam didn't turn to look at him. "yes I'm going out".
"To Ewing Oil?" Bobby asked. Pam turned to him "no I
have an appointment in town".
Bobby stood feeling uncomfortable with the situation "I thought
perhaps you might stay for dinner, it would help mama".
Pam raised
her eyes "I'm sorry Bobby, but I have to go". She went to
walk past Bobby and he put out his hand and stopped her. "Pam we
need to talk" he said quietly. Pam looked down and pursed her lips.
"I don`t want to talk now Bobby" she said. Bobby looked at
her. "don`t shut me out, I miss you, I was so happy when you came
back into my life, I thought id lost you forever, but you came back,
and I cant tell you how much that meant to me, please Pam".
Pam stood and took a breath. "I do love you Bobby, god knows I
love you, but there are things that you don`t understand, that you won`t
understand, you don`t know me any more, Im not that person who left
Dallas, Im not the girl you met over 20 years ago, things arn`t like
they used to be". Bobby took Pams hand. "I know that, I know
that Pam, I know we can`t go back, but Im asking to go forward and I
can`t do that until you open up to me".
Pam looked
to one side "Not now Bobby, please". Bobby began to feel frustrated
he loved her so deeply. "then at least tell me where your going"he
asked. Pam pulled away. She looked down "Im going to see Katherine".......
Bobby took a step back. "Katherine?" he asked "Your sister
Katherine?".
Pam nodded
"Yes Katherine". Bobby shook his head "My god Pam, what
the hell is going on? she tried to kill me, she tried to split us up,
what are you doing?".
Pam became
assertive "shes my sister Bobby, and paid for what she did, she
turned herself in, like she told you she would when I was in the hospital,
she paid her dues and shes been good to me, and if you have a problem
with that then im sorry".
Bobby looked
angry "she tried to wreck our lives Pam,".
Pam looked up" yes she did, she was in love with you, her mother
had been killed and JR had tried to destroy her, she was used and abused,
I don`t justify what she did, but things are different now".
Bobby looked confused and held Pams arm "how can you forgive her?"
he asked. Pam laughed "The same way you forgive
JR, but thats ok isn`t it, JR tried to ruin our lives, my life more
than once, but thats ok, thats not a problem is it?" she stated.
Bobby was shocked by this outburst "hes my brother Pam"
Pam nodded and with an unleashed anger lashed out "Yes and Katherines
my sister........so get over it". She pulled away from Bobby
and walked out slamming the door.
Pam walked
out of Southfork and got in her car driving off.
Sue
Ellen stood talking to Lucy in the hallway. Her mobile phone rang, she
excused herself from Lucy and answered the phone. It was Bill McKoy
who was headforeman of Ewing 10, Sue Ellen`s most affluent oil field.
"whats
the problem Bill?" she asked.
"Theres
an oil leak over at Ewing 5, probably one of the cement casings has
broke" he explained.
Sue Ellen
laughed "well thats not too big an issue is it ?"
"Im
sorry Mrs Ewing but theres a seepage into the drinking water supply
" he said.
Sue Ellen
looked confused "well sort it out" she stated firmly
"I
would do Ms Ewing but the Texas Energy commission came in and shut the
whole field down"
Sue Ellen
looked shocked without that field pumping full on she could loose millions.
She told
him she would call him back. She grabbed her bag and ran out. Lucy followed
her "Is everything ok Sue Ellen?" she asked
Sue Ellen
got in her car and called back "Theres a problem at Ewing Oil,
tell Miss Ellie im sorry but I have to go". Sue Ellen drove out
at top speed. Lucy stood watching.
