Who killed JR Ewing?
The character of JR Ewing looks set to exit Dallas in a murder mystery “Who Killed J.R.?” According to TV Guide Magazine, “Dallas” executive producer Cynthia Cidre and the show’s writing staff decided to launch a “Who Killed J.R.?” mystery following the death of Larry Hagman.
The charcter of JR Ewing will appear in the first five episodes of Season 2. “We all felt having J.R. die of natural causes would have been completely inappropriate, not only to the character, but also to Larry Hagman,” Cidre said.
The executive producer received Patrick Duffy’s blessing to do the story and also ran the story by Hagman’s son, Preston.
It has not been revealed how the character will be shot in a throw back to the 1980 who done sensation or killed in some other form.
However it happens there is a long list of potential killers including his long time enemy Cliff Barnes, Pamela Rebecca or perhaps even Bobby’s ex wife Pamela.

Who ever did kill JR it needs to be a big surprise and who did needs to have a very very good reason for it!! Otherwise it will just be stupid. I don’t think Christopher could have a good enough reason for killing his fathers brother. Two people who do have really good reasons for getting JR are Cliff and Pamela Barnes, there are other characters who haven’t returned to the new Dallas that may have a good reason it. (It can’t be someone who hasn’t known JR for that long it would be ridiculous if it was.)
I feel Christopher is not so Mr Goody Two Shoes. I have studied him since the Dallas revival and he doesn’t look what he seems. He may have beem raised by Bobby, but he does share the same DNA with the woman who tried to murder him 33 years ago. Will Kristen Shepered resurrect within her son and make no mistake a second time and get her revenge?
This is both exciting and sad and I say well done to Cynthia Cidre as this is a fitting tribute to the legend of JR. He had to go like this and I will be wearing my who killed JR t-shirt with pride.

Without question… it NEEDS to be Pamela Barnes Ewing (Victoria Principal’s return). Do ‘whatever’ it takes to make this happen.
Moreover, she can now pick up the ball and be the scheming, trouble-maker on the show while being the ‘biggest’ blast from the past imaginable.
Get her back, and write her in for good, not just a visit. The show really will need someone like her now more than ever. (It is no longer just about nostalgia here). IMHO
