Sorry for the huge review, but I’m really loving the new Zune, and hope this, as well as the excellent reviews some other people have written, will help you decide if it’s the right choice for you.
The Zune concentrates on being a Portable Media Player. Not a web browser. Not a game machine. Maybe in the future it’ll do even better in those areas, but for now it’s a fantastic way to organize and listen to your music and videos, and is without peer in that regard. The iPod’s strengths are its web browsing and apps. If those sound more compelling, perhaps it is your best choice.
Between me and my husband we’ve owned more MP3 players over the years than I can count, including Sansas, iRivers, iPods (classic & touch), the Ibiza Rhapsody, etc. But, the last few years I’ve settled down to one line of players. Why? Because I was happy to discover how well-designed and fun to use the underappreciated (and widely mocked) Zunes are.

I’ll gear this review to 2 types of people: current Zune owners who are considering an upgrade, and people trying to decide between a Zune and an iPod. (There are other players worth considering out there, like the Sony Walkman X, but I hope this gives you enough info to make an informed decision of the Zune vs players other than the iPod line as well.)
Good day, friend, im totaly agree with you!
Can’t wait, I grew up with the original. It looks like JR will never change!
love it love it love it can’t hardly wait thank you TNT
At the end of “War of the Ewings”, JR said Jock had left the mineral rights of Southfork to the Ewing grandchildren. Maybe that’s where John Ross gets the idea to drill for oil on ranch land. Bringing back Bobby’s biological son Lucas would provide numerous storyline opportunities. Can’t wait for next summer!
Oh thats right. I forgot that Bobby does have a son named Lucas by Jenna! I heard that Ray will be back too. Wanna bet? How many children JR have?
Did anyone else notice that, in the initial shots of Southfork in this sneak peek, the entire mansion is reversed from how it really is? For example, when at the back of the mansion and facing west, the garage with its cupola should be to the right; it’s to the left. The sun is also RISING in the background; that’s not possible, it can only be setting in that direction. Interesting what can be done with computer generated/manipulated images.
It will be interesting to see how John Ross thinks he could get away with drilling a well on Southfork. Did he think nobody would notice? Bobby (like Christopher and his first wife Pam) is an inspid goody-two-shoes. I can’t wait for JR and John Ross (and perhaps Sue Ellen too) to take it to Bobby, his fake-Ewing son and lay their claim to their birthright – Southfork, and everything on (and below) it!
Looks great, touch of the old Dallas, I hope they spend more time on the ranch as when the show first started. Give more western feel; when Jim Davis past away, some of the show died with him.
I love the use of the music to give it the feeling of a big-budget epic feature film. And I am very curious to know who gets throw out of a window onto the front porch!
I understood, though never liked, the decision by Miss Ellie and Clayton to leave Southfork to Bobby. JR had nearly lost the ranch years earlier by putting it up as collateral in a business deal. But that was at the end of the show, and nobody lived at SF anymore (JR & Bobby were the only ones that mattered). Now the show is back, and the once Ewing-filled SF is home to who? – just Bobby, Christopher and their wives? That’s boring. They should of had Miss Ellie request in her will that Bobby give JR a few hundred acres of SF so he could build his own home on Ewing land. If the show is comprised of Sue Ellen, JR and John Ross constantly having to “visit” SF to “interact” with Bobby and Christopher, then that’s not Dallas. Get them all in that damn old house (I don’t care what reason they concoct) – just do it! Oh, and get Ray and Lucy and/or Lucas back there as well. The more the merrier!
