Dallas back summer 2012

It’s been a long time coming but Dallas is officially back as TV series  in Summer 2012 only on TNT in a 10 episode run

This is fantastic news for fans of the series as Larry Hagman, Linda Gray and Patrick Duffy reprise their roles alongside the next generation of Ewings played by Josh Henderson, Jesse Metcafe, Jordana Brewster and Julie Gonzalo.

Brenda Strong from Desperates Housewives fame also joins the cast as the latest wife of Bobby Ewing.

So JR is back in town as we see a brand new chapater unfold with JR’s son John Ross as the man we love to hate.

The new version will focus on the Ewing offspring — J.R. Ewing’s son John Ross (Josh Henderson of Desperate Housewives), and Christopher, the adopted son of Bobby and Pam Ewing (Jesse Metcalfe of Desperate Housewives) — as they clash over the family dynasty’s future. Jordana Brewster (Fast & Furious) stars as Elena, who is involved in a love triangle with Christopher and John Ross. Julie Gonzalo (Veronica Mars) stars as Christopher’s fiancée Rebecca. The updated Dallas will feature original series stars Larry Hagman, Patrick Duffy and Linda Gray. Hagman gained worldwide fame for his portrayal of oil baron J.R. Ewing. Gray played J.R.’s wife Sue Ellen Ewing, while Duffy portrayed J.R.’s younger brother Bobby.

If you can’t wait that long check out the new series TNT official website http://www.DallasTNT.com for behind the scenes photos, and more.

Definitely believe that which you said. Your favorite justification seemed to be on the web the easiest thing to be aware of. I say to you, I definitely get annoyed while people consider worries that they plainly don’t know about. You managed to hit the nail upon the top as well as defined out the whole thing without having side-effects , people can take a signal. Will probably be back to get more. Thanks

I am so glad to hear that this show will be back where it belongs;on tv,and probably in a week or two, will be at the number one spot ,again, and will stay there for the duration!!!I hope the producers will give this one a good chance, and not get nervous if it doesn`t start out at the top right away!!I am really glad!!!Let me put it this way:my favorite show is,American Chopper, but if they were to run this new Dallas in the same time slot, well,it will be Dallas for me!!!! Thanks again for having the sense to make us all happy!!

The one thing it definitely needs is Pam. The antagonism between JR and Pam drove the original show and although time has passed, it would definitely be better with rather than without her. Of course, getting her back is nigh on impossible given VP’s reticence to join most of the reunions.

Also, Donna, Cliff, Afton, Kristin & Jenna should be around.

Basically everyone possible from the great years (seasons 1-8).

We don’t want to see April’s sister, James or Cally!!!

Cally was without a doubt the most beautiful and good hearted female in the Dallas show besides Miss Ellie. Watching the last two seasons and observing JR´s treatment of her was so painful and I said I´d never watch the show again -honestly(!) The storyline was also unbelievable since any man rich or poor would have worked his *** to keep Cally – something even a real life JR figure would not throw away.
What did disturb me though even from the beginning was Priscilla Presleys role and participation in the show. I am a dihard Elvis fan and I think she is beautiful, but the chemistry between Bob&Pam was special and the show with Pam is becomes more dynamic. Hell, bring them all aboard again! :)

You know you are getting old when they start remaking your favorite old tv shows…Can this batch of Ewings possibly be as low down and dirty as the originals? We shall see…I will certainly be watching…AGAIN!

I’m glad Dallas will be seen again. I’ll always love the original. Thanks TNT (Back then) for showing it so I’d be caught up in Season 4.

The only thing I feel confused about is. Bobby still is the “good” one, that’s why the series died. & Sue Ellen says “Consider me your Ally.” I hope that’s John Ross. & he says “No drilling on MY Ranch! Bob, J.R. is the rightful South fork heir, as eldest.

Remember, in ’91 (just before the series ended) Miss Ellie and Clayton left Southfork to Bobby. JR was given all of the Farlow’s Westar stock, but it still pissed JR off that he didn’t get a part of Southfork. I assume Miss Ellie and Clayton believed Bobby would be the only Ewing that would not only properly look after the ranch, but allow the other family members to reside there. Recall that JR nearly cost the Ewings Southfork when he put it up as collateral during a business deal early in the series. Jock and Ellie never forgave him for that and it cost JR any chance of owning even a part of the ranch.

Really looking forward to the new series, just hope not disappointed. New cast sounds great. I’m glad their bringing back the original cast, and hope they continue to use them trough out the series or it will flop. Just many series they have tried to bring back. I’m holding out hope for this one, I sure hope they use the kick ass theme, when they brought back Hawaii five-0.

Fabulous news, the original Dallas was great (watching in UK throughout the 80s), the actors unforgettable (love you Sue Ellen), really looking forward to seeing the new talent and some despicable behaviour. Can’t wait!!!!

This is awesome news! I’m so excited about the new series, though I wish we didn’t have to wait a whole year. TNT has been actively promoting their current line-up of shows and I’m confident they will devote as much time to promoting Dallas when the time comes.

Pictures on TNT site are quite beautiful… It’s gonna be a new, modern, show, maybe a better one…? (with no shower :p) Scripts have improved with years and series got excellent writters nowadays (Nip Tuck; Six feet under; True Blood etc) The new Dallas has to break up with the vintage one to survive, I think… It can’t be just a sequel… Just one thing: was it worth making a pilot NOW and dig it under a tree till next summer…?!

Brenda Strong is not playing Pamela Ewing. That character is gone, dead, capoot! She will portray Bobby’s third wife Anne Ewing. I am sure the details will be filled in with the pilot. Victoria Principle has made it clear she wants nothing to do with the show that made her famous. Producers are now more than willing to accomodate her wish. In fact, there is no actor more ungrateful for the fame/fortune Dallas brought them than Victoria Principle. I would have recast Pam and taken the character away from her once and for all!

Words can’t help just how happy I am! I have longed for this moment for years!

Now I hope a British Broadcaster buys the new ten part series! Come on BBC! Bring Dallas home to Wednesday’s at 8pm! :)
