Warner Brothers are in discussions to bring the show back to TV after 18 years.
Larry Hagman, Linda Gray and Patrick Duffy could reprise their roles alongside a new generation of younger actors. The pilot could potentially air on TNT in 2010 with the option for a full series.

I hope Sue-Ellen will have alcohol problems, that´s better tv than a “succesful businesswoman”. Really looking forward to a new Dallas anyway! LOVE Dallas.
This is the ‘CAST’ – J.R. is JOCK – Miss Elly is Sue Ellen etc etc
OMG ! Please Warner Bros. We want Dallas back. And Friday nights will be worth staying home again.
I’m from the Netherlands. To see them back, a mixture of the old crew and a new crew, would be a huge hit. I can’t wait.
Go for it!
Pay them what they deserve….bring back the original kids that were cast to play themselves again and whatever original cast members are able to return! Dallas is and always will be in a league of its own, with as many original cast members, young and old, then its already halfway to being a success…good writers and directors is all thats needed! I think these forums and our sincere comments should be sent along with the scripts when approaching the potential casts. The dream scene was corny but us die hard fans are still here…original or new..give it a chance!! Who wants reality TV rammed down our throats anyway?..not me!
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
LA DA DA DADADA DADADADA
I know i’m smiling from ear to ear bout it.

I am thrilled that Dallas is coming back. Its 1 of my favorite, and all time shows that i love on tv.Please be true, and wish u all the luck Dallas crew that this happens.Be waiting for the pilot to come on,and wish it would come on CBS.
I think a Dallas series featuring both the old and new generations would be a true hit. However, let us not forget that the recent attempts (i.e., JR Returns and War of the Ewings) were ‘okay’ at best. A writing team with a working knowledge of what worked in the past (taking care not to repeat same storylines) is crucial. And honestly, if this is going to work, they MUST bring Victoria Principal back as Pam. Even though she parted years ago (and the storylines alluded to her pending death in season 12 episode 1), viewers really need more here. If VP is reading, please consider returning. Your fans are many, and we would love to see you back after all these years!
I would LOVe that!! Dallas was a great show and i would love to see Jr, Bobbie, sue Ellen and Pamela again!! Of course I will miss Miss Ellie as much as I had missed Jock but as in life there is death and even without them(cause NO one can hold a candle to Barbara as well as Jim)
I will LOVE Dallas to come back to tv!
Oh, my god I hope so. Give us an email or address so we can write warner brothers to make this happen.

This is fantastic! My two favourite shows when I was growing up back in the eighties were Dallas and Doctor Who. When Doctor Who finished in 1989 I was devastated, then when Dallas finished in 1991 I did another bawling act. When Doctor Who returned in 2005 and became a hit again I was ecstatic, but I always became very teary eyed when I thought about Dallas and wished it could come back. Doctor Who I knew by its constantly changing format had the potential to survive on television for a very long time again, but that sort of format was not the same as Dallas, but I still missed the most famous soap of them all. Can I say that this news has made me a very happy man, to have both my childhood shows return to television production is absolute heaven. I hope it comes to fruition. I also hope the new Dallas has David Jacobs involvement, and hopefully some of the surviving Katzman’s, Frank or Mitchell Wayne. David Paulsen and Arthur Bernard Lewis know the show inside out and would be ideal on a sequel series. Finally the new Dallas has the potential to become a prime time hit just like the original hit series. I love this show. Yippee, Dallas is coming back!!
come on kim, weve had dallas movies its time to bring the greatest tv series of all time back to tv regular.
I’m so excited, I hope it takes off well like the orginal series did.
That would be truly great – if, that is, it´s the original cast (I do hope that Lucy, Ray and the other original cast are included as well as JR, Bobby and Sue-Ellen). PS! Get GOOD writers.
That’s great but they need not but it on pay tv not all of us have pay tv . They need to consider that . I want to be in on the action too!!
I agree with you…but..even if they air it on a subscrpition channel…I’ll pay for it…to see a whole new Dallas series would be all worth it for me..but, I do hope they air it on free channels.
j.r.,sue ellen, pam, lucy, bobby, ray, cliff, gary, donna, they’l make the comeback series a hit, don’t do like the other shows that tried and failed, there are millions of fans like me of dallas who agree.but i luv the idea…
A “new” Dallas – just wouldn’t be the same – people just don’t “warm” to folks with cash and opportunities like the Ewings had anymore – and with the current gas situation, not sure this would be a good thing for 2010 ….. I think they should get as many original folks as they can and do another return movie …..
HELLO i’m very happy for this great news it would be fabulous if at the begining we would see the original cast and if possible with victoria principal who miss so much to everybody in any way it would be wonderful a french fan since a long time
I don’t want a reboot like Star Trek. It is trash.
Best news ever… that would be fab.
AWESOME,BUT BRING BACK THE REST OF THE CAST,IT WOULD MAKE IT MORE LIKE OLD TIMES,EVEN THO STILL HAVE JOCK AND ELLIE ARE GONE THERE MEMORY LIVES ON
You have got to be kidding! I’ll audition to play JR’s son!! WOW Thats great!
I agree with Scott, from Scotland, one wrong move and our hopes of the new series could be gone. After ALL these years, I do not want a re-hash of the stories that have already been told. Give us something fresh and new. I am definetly not the same as I was when the series was on the air and do not expect the characters to be either. In saying this, it is time that Lucy was portrayed as a responsible adult. PLEASE make her an ongoing cast member. As for Pam, let’s take care of this storyline once and for all. If VP doesn’t wish to return, either kill her off or recast the role. It’s a NEW beginning. Would hope Afton and Cliff are around, even if only in smaller roles. A Donna and Ray storyline would do excellent. I never liked Ray and Jenna together. The love just never seemed real like it seemed with Donna and Ray. The next generation will be fine, but I do not want them to forget the older fans. JR, Sue Ellen, and Bobby will definetly have a strong spot in the series if the actors agree to participate. Just excited about the news. YA-HOO!!
It’s been too long since the original series went off the air to worry about its reputation. They’ve made it and they are safe.
This is for a new generation in the target demograhic (21-45)- half of whom were half pints when ol’ JR was wearing his 7 gal hat. It has to be different-it should be- and it will be.
I would wager my 20% and Lucy’s 10% of Ewing Oil that we will see cameos, but not full-time roles for the original cast. This will be like the new Melrose Place, 90210, and Star Trek (movie).
Good for them! Good for us!!
(I think I just wet myself)
Wow! Just WOW!!! The greatest drama series of all time could potentially be reurning to our screens!
If this is all indeed true, then my god this will make for essential television viewing for me and millions of other Dallas fans around the world!
However, in order to make it work, the new producers will most definately have to cast the new generation of Ewing’s extremely well to match up with the shows original cast members; baring in mine that the original cast were among some of the finest actors on television at the time. The new cast will hold the key to the shows potential success in my opinion as the new generation of Ewing’s will in turn pull in a new generation of viewers.
And as for the original cast, we WILL need Larry Hagman (J.R. Ewing), Lind Gray (Sue Ellen Ewing), Patrick Duffy (Bobby Ewing), Ken Kercheval (Cliff Barnes) and maybe even Steve Kanaly and Susan Howard (Ray and Donna Krebbs) in order to bring in the viewers who watched the show on its original run. And, if we are extremely lucky, maybe even Victoria Principal (Pamela Barnes Ewing) should return. But that is just wishful thinking on Dallas fans part. (But how great would that be!)
Also, the new storylines will need to be intelligent and gripping in order to match up with previous sotrylines in the shows heyday; so a collection of excellent writers is vital to measure up to what Leonard Katzman and co did all those years ago.
And please, please, please don’t make this into a teen drama like 90210 or One Tree Hill just because a new cast will be in it, Dallas deserves better than that.
If all of these things are done, and done well, then I think it’s safe to say the new show will be on to a winner.
However, one wrong move and this show could be a disaster and could drag the reputation of the original series down with it; which it doesn’t deserve in any way, shape or form!

Hi! My thoughts on this are:
If the original cast members are involved in this, then it will be a hit. If not, then it will be awful. Dallas is the original
cast members and NO One can take their places.
dallas started during the last great depression of jimmy carter in the late 70′s and it was a hit… now we are in even a worse depression…. what a better time to bring it back…
I think its a great idea, Show the original ctors how good they were let them enjoy the show that they created!!! xxx
I am from Germany. This sounds great.
April Stevens is dead.
I hope Sheree J. Wilson returns as April Stevens, She’s beautiful!
oh yah, I forgot she only died in Pam’s “dream sequence”…maybe they can bring her back..then maybe along the line, they bring Pam back and have Bobby torn between the women he loves…whatchya think?..hehe.
I say
Jason Bateman for the role John Ross Ewing lll
(in tv show its your move he played a JR style character)
and Patrick Dempsey for Christopher Ewing or Lucas Wade.
Pamela Cooper Character has to be cast right as well just as important as JR3
hello everybody!!!! i’m french, i’ve just woken up and that’s the first news i read this morning! i’m so happy!!!! it’s greaaaaaat!!!
(“rebecca show transformiste” on facebook)
I think this sounds great. A new exciting generation plus our favorites showing up to move along the plotlines …I’m excited.
This will only work if they get the right actor to play John Ross lll.
It will take a big shot actor to fill in those shoes, cause he’s going to have to match what Larry Hagman is capable of.
I suggest someone like Jude Law or Christian Bale. Both have a look that would match Larry Hagman.
This is going to be tough.
With the wrong John Ross lll and without bringing back the original cast, the show will certainly fail big time.
I’m not sure if the TV networks can afford the new cast and original cast salaries on top of it all…
I can’t imagine a new show without Ken Kercheval, Victoria Principal, Steve Kanaly, Charlene Tilton, Susan Howard, Duffy, Gray, and Hagman.
Plus the new cast will have to match those talents….
I’m not holding my breath.
Don’t mess up a good thing.
I will be looking forward to it
Desde Chile, para mi seria una gran noticia
YES!!! This is great news!!!
like a dream come true….
John Ross Ewing III, Christopher Ewing, Pamela Rebecca Cooper, Charlie Wade, Margaret Krebbs and Lucas Krebbs are the new generation…??
JR, Sue Ellen and Bobby back… I think it’s amazing!!
I mean take off better than… oops…
this is the best news for me since waiting 19 years for the Star Wars prequels. Woo Hoo..
WE WILL WATCH SO PLEASE MAKE THIS A REALITY FOR US FANS!!!!!
This would take of better than 90210, Melrose, and Hawaii 5-0 combined.
It’s def. time for this!!!!
Here from The Netherlands,
I can’t wait!!!!
I’m french, I live in Reunion Island and I just arrive in Plano yesterday after 22000 miles in plane to come and visit Southfork Ranch, it was an old dream since I saw the tv show Dallas in 1981 and the first news I learn by watching TV here, it’s the Dallas comeback, very huge news and it’s probably not a coincidence, thanks GOD to make two of my dreams come true again! I hope to have a little role in the new show! Southfork I arrive !!!
I always thought a DALLAS – the next Generation series was something that would work brilliantly and now it seems that TV execs have finally woken up! FANTASTIC NEWS.
Though a fan of the original TV Series (up until that dreaded dream season) I wonder if the show will work in the current Global Financial Crisis? I’m not sure people will relate to the Ewing Family flashing their wealth about. Remember the original series worked because the world was on the cusp of enjoying personal wealth.
Yes please! Best of all would be for the original cast to stay on as the elder generation, but I’ll settle for a generous helping of special guest appearances.
You´re KIDDING??? This would be unbe-friggin-lievable!!
OH MY GOD!!! That would be amazing!!! Dallas fans have been waiting for years for this.
This is the best news I’ve heard in 18 years! I hope the rumors are true, but in the meantime, will there be a chance of the reruns being aired again?
