Dallas still making headlines
By Chris On 30 November 2008 In Dallas 1.0 News
It is almost a month since the Dallas Reunion, a bad time had by some and a great time by others. Despite the fiasco that took place in the press following the event perhaps we can now reflect on what this means for Dallas as a brand.
Not many shows could create such an event 17 years after it left the small screen. It is hard to imagine the cast of Desperate Housewives or Ugly Betty making their way down a red carpet in the year 2030.
So what now?
TV execs would be crazy not to jump on board the Dallas brand and do something with it.
The audience is there waiting in the wings.

I’m not sure exactly why but this blog is loading extremely slow for me. Is anyone else having this problem or is it a issue on my end? I’ll check back later and see if the problem still exists.
The Zune concentrates on being a Portable Media Player. Not a web browser. Not a game machine. Maybe in the future it’ll do even better in those areas, but for now it’s a fantastic way to organize and listen to your music and videos, and is without peer in that regard. The iPod’s strengths are its web browsing and apps. If those sound more compelling, perhaps it is your best choice.
Zune and iPod: Most people compare the Zune to the Touch, but after seeing how slim and surprisingly small and light it is, I consider it to be a rather unique hybrid that combines qualities of both the Touch and the Nano. It’s very colorful and lovely OLED screen is slightly smaller than the touch screen, but the player itself feels quite a bit smaller and lighter. It weighs about 2/3 as much, and is noticeably smaller in width and height, while being just a hair thicker.
I’ll gear this review to 2 types of people: current Zune owners who are considering an upgrade, and people trying to decide between a Zune and an iPod. (There are other players worth considering out there, like the Sony Walkman X, but I hope this gives you enough info to make an informed decision of the Zune vs players other than the iPod line as well.)

Apple now has Rhapsody as an app, which is a great start, but it is currently hampered by the inability to store locally on your iPod, and has a dismal 64kbps bit rate. If this changes, then it will somewhat negate this advantage for the Zune, but the 10 songs per month will still be a big plus in Zune Pass’ favor.
a final movie with PAM would be great…have larry Hagman blackmail her into coming back!!!
bring the cast back and let the two ewing sons take over with both fathers guideing them but have John Ross be the good son and chris. be the bad one. remember he is really J.R. son
now I’ll stay tuned..
Why not do a new seies of dallas. With John ross and christopher as the main characters (the new jr and bobby). jr and sue ellen (the new miss ellie and jock) bobby there as well. there is such a huge chouce of options. WHY ARE THE TV COMPANIES BEING SO STUBBORN!!! Give us all what we want. a new series of DALLAS!!!!
They do need a closure movie how a bout if pam returns for miss ellies funeral john ross elopes with cliffs daughter because she is preggirs the possibilities are endless
This project is fantastic!
Please please please bring back Pamela!!!!!!!!!!

Oh Please Bring DALLAS,Back I love JR. I Live in Texas. And I want my Dallas back Please. I like every one of them to come back on Dallas. I have a lot of Ideas.I no About Business.
Also, it could be found out that Jock never died in South America, but lost his memory, and during this time, built another vast fortune in another business!! This would make for yet another great battle between Bobby and JR, John Ross and Christopher, over Jock’s new fortune. I have a lot of ideas on “Dallas, The Next Generation”…..
Dallas was a hell of a show. I agree that it should return for “Dallas, the next generation” Jr could get control of Ewing Oil again and turn the reigns over to John Ross, Christopher could be running the Southfork! A family fight starts when Southfork is in finacial trouble, and Christopher must go to John Ross and Ewing Oil to save the Ranch. John Ross could be just as sneaky as his father and take 50% of the Ranch from Christopher. Now that Barbara Bel Geddes has passed away, “may she rest in peace” Miss Ellie would have to pass away, but again, another family squable over her estate!! This could turn into another long running series. I know the original cast would most likely not do a lot of the shows, but they could make guest appearances. Anyone agree with this concept???
Like most of the people who have commented here, I am a HUGE Dallas fan! Sadly, I never saw the show back when it first aired on TV as I am only 16 years old so I have began collecting the DVD’s and catching re-runs of the show on the television whenever I can and I am totally addicted! J.R. Ewing is THE man! I think it’s safe to say that Dallas is, without a doubt, the best TV show ever to have aired on televison and it’s wonderful to see that the show still has a large following after all these years. It has something which other TV shows of it’s time don’t have: staying power.
Because it is still clearly popular, I think a third TV movie should be made just to say a final goodbye to the classic series as War of the Ewings just wasn’t a fitting farewell. As for bringing the show back for a new series, then I would have to agree that a new generation of Ewings will be essential for bringing in a new generation of viewers. And, of course, we WILL NEED J.R., Bobby, Sue Ellen, Pam, Cliff, Ray and Donna to return in order to bring back the viewers who watched the show during it’s original run. If this can’t be done, then it’s best just to return the show for a final TV movie.
All-in-all, I agree something should be done. And I hope whatever the outcome is, it captures the tue spirit of the way Dalls should be.

Best program ever i am in my late 20ties and am a huge DALLAS
fan and am proud of it,i tell all my friends too , it was very very big in south africa – still is,thank you thank you.The whole cast was great esp Sue Ellen, reminded me of my mother.
From all the way down in south africa. You guys were fantastic.
I’m from the other side of the Pacific, the Philippines. I just love Dallas so much that I’m complete with all the Seasons from 1-9 by buying thru the internet. I treasure my DVD’s so much. I think you should really have
a new TV series with all the third generation Ewings. Please include Gary too.I love the way the three Ewing sons were portrayed, very real….very
universal.
Thank you Dallas.
I’m from Canada and just wanted to say I attended the Southfork BBQ and had been to the Event in Los Angeles (October 2008) before as well. That’s where I met some of the Dallas Cast members and ate dinner with Charlene Tilton and her daughter Cherish. I’m in my 50′s now and have watched Dallas since the very beginning. I absolutely loved being at the Texas Southfork BBQ on November 8th/2008! It was hectic, but to see all of the Dallas Cast members on stage together and listen to their comments, well… nothing will ever compare to that privilege and honor ever for me. Those people are all truly amazing!
Thank you everybody who brought the Dallas Reunion to us! Great job! Absolutely loved it!

Please do something exciting with all of this mess!!!
Does anyone know for sure if the series gets back on TV since Soapnet took the gas?
its an idea

I think its a great Idea to make another show or the other lady here said to bring back Dallas as “the next Generation” wouldnt that be great!
the original cast can do aperiences as needed.. Wow wouldnt that be great..Maybe to get to there they would have to do another movie to introduce the “next Generation” idea.. hummm
Karen
I was able to see the cast. Although I was disappointed in the outcome of the event, it is something I wont forget.
Warner Brothers must bring back the original cast, including and especially PAMELA. Find a way to convince Victoria Principal to come back. She owes the show for her successes in life. She must come back! Honestly, I would love to play JR’s son because I emulate the man so well – and I’m 30 years old. Oh well, Omri Katz is a good guy too! Bring back Chris and John Ross. There must be more clarity in this reunion. Part II was not good, sorry to say. Ellie should be mentioned also, i.e., “It’s been hard these last years without Ms.Ellie…”
I have plenty of thoughts and I’m a great writer! Look me up if interested!
VIVA DALLAS and ORIGINAL TELEVISION!
I also have to agree to one last final TV movie. It would be so nice to have the old cast to tie up all of the loose ends at last. This way the proper intro can be done for Dallas the next generation to take off. Sueellen now has 1/2 of Ewing Oil so then John Ross III can take over as the new head of Ewing Oil just like his farther JR wanted.
I have to agree one final TV movie would be great! Espeically if they can manage to bring in all of the old cast. Tie up the loose ends and give Dallas a propper end..at least with the initial cast! A new series would be cool, but I would much rather see the series as it is put to bed in a way that was propper and fitting! Please make it happen!
There you go Warner Brothers.. there you go cast. We still love “Dallas”. Even if it’s one last movie.. you are all lookin’ at television history here and you looked at it long ago so you know it to be true.
Bryan Kinnaird hsa a pretty good idea out there. It’s all a no brainer. I was at the event too. Knowing what I know and living what I lived of it.. I can honestly tell you it was a seasons worth of “Dallas” wrapped up into a moment.
Larry Hagman said of “Dallas”, “it came along at the right time and the world needed something”. He was right and it seems we still need “Dallas”. Even if it’s one last time…..
I’m one of the fans that paid for two $1,000.00 tickets and $ 3,000.00 in air and hotel expensed and did not get a table or even close to the cast. BUT it still was nice to see Southfork and the cast from a distance. The cast was great and they put a lot of effort into doing what they could, blame the show operators. Please do another final 2 hour special, with JR,Pam, Sue-Ellen and clean loose ends and continue the saga on a new TV series.
We definitely need another TV movie! As Patrick Duffy said.. who knows if the cast will all still be around in 10 years.. and i agree with Rene.. it really needs to be at least a 2 hour special! I really hope it can eventuate!
It would need Victoria.Jr,bob, sue ellen+Pam were ALL essential! One last tv movie has to be done!Lol
That would be a great idea. Dalles the final roundup as one last TVmovie duration 2 hours. In the last hour the lose-ends develop into a Dallas the next Generation series Pilot on the basis of what is the core feel with the show that has kept it still so popular and define nogo area’s for the show too although tackling sensitive issues in a new way for nightimesoap should stay part of the package. Not to mention the actual turbulent changes in the energytrade that could give great realistic basis for Ewing Oil stories. I hope they see this could work.
I toured Southfork in May and must say that the place has an amazing hold on so many people. The day I was there, the other people were from Europe and New Zealand. I am from Canada. People commented on how much they wish they could see the cast there. Everyone is still in love with the original cast and would love to see the storyline continue. So, I agree with John Winter’s post. Make a new TV movie as he outlined. It would be nice to see JR and Bobby teaching John Ross and Christopher the ropes. And having Christopher fall in love with Cliff & Afton’s daughter would be great. JR would just hate that.
Now is the time, BRING BACK DALLAS!!! If no one will bring back the series, then gives one LAST tv movie. You can call it DALLAS: THE FINAL ROUND-UP. Let it end with a BANG!! (hold on, they already did that. LOL.) I holding out for the next generation.
I just wanted to add …..J.R. FOR PRESIDENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I would love to see another Dallas T.V. movie with the original cast! Bringing back Pam would be GREAT, what about James Baumonte? Whatever happened with Donna and Ray’s daughter? Why not even bring Gary and Val back in the picture? If another T.V. movie gets made it has to be the biggest and best yet, explaining all the the loose ends from the departure of old castmembers, and leave a cliffhanger that could pave the way for a new generation of Ewings to leave us hungering for more!!!!!
Make another Dallas made for TV movie special!! And this time bring back Pam somehow….!!
SIIII, YEEES. los estamos esperando en una 2 PARTE DE DALLAS LA SERIE QUE ENCANTO Y SIGUE ENCANTANDO. HAY UNA TV QUE NO HAN EXPLOTADO, Y ES LA DE GENTE DE 45 PARA ARRIVA. TODO LO DEMAS VA DIRIGIDO A NIÑOS Y JOVENES YO SE QUE POR AHI VA LA COSA. VIVA DALLAS
Please try to work on a Dallas 2 next generation based on the cartoon presented on the website
Would be good!
