One of the most famous transplant patients in Pittsburgh this weekend is Larry Hagman, better known as J.R. Ewing from the hit TV series “Dallas.”
Hagman is a liver recipient.
“I get to meet all my brothers and sisters who had transplantation. And what it’s for is to draw attention to the fact that like 18 people die every day waiting for organs and people just don’t give enough organs,” he said. “When you pass away, no sense in throwing those things away.”
