Bobby's pain is getting worse and he talks to the doctor on his cell phone to confirm the surgery on the coming Wednesday. He then rides out across Southfork to the sweetheart tree. The names of Bobby & Ann are inscribed on the tree, just above the names of Bobby's parents - Jock and Ellie.
Ann rides out to see Bobby and asks him when he plans to tell her about his cancer diagnosis. Bobby reassures her that he is going to fight it and there is a high remission rate after the surgery and that he will be ok.
Elena shows John Ross the email from Christopher and asks him directly if he was the one who sent it. John Ross reads it and denies knowing anything about it. Christopher explains to Bobby that he is unhappy about the selling of Southfork to help support his alternative energy venture. Bobby explains he is not just selling Southfork to support his son but if anything happened to him then he didn't want Christopher and John Ross in a battle over Southfork. Christopher thinks Bobby doesn't trust him with Southfork as Bobby does not reveal his real reason is due to the cancer diagnosis.
Rebecca talks to Ann, and explains she wants Christopher to be happy but is out our depth. Ann reassures her that Christopher loves her and gives her Miss Ellie's cookbook- filled with recipes going back to Ellie's grandmother.

John Ross meets with Bobby's attorney of thirty years, Mitch Lobell. John Ross is furious and asks Mitch what the holdup is as JR wants to see the papers. John Ross had agreed to pay Mitch 500 thousand dollars to betray Bobby but Mitch now wants more money. He blackmails John Ross and tells him he wants two million dollars by the time of the Cattles Barons Ball or he will tell Bobby he set him up, he will also tell JR that John Ross is also screwing him over. John Ross storms out in a hissy fit.
John Ross walks into his regular bar and sees Christopher. He tells Christopher to get out, that it's his bar. Christopher recalls a time when it was their bar, when they were growing up. John Ross says they are not family and he is a Ewing through and through. Christopher warns him to have eyes in the back of his head as he is coming for him. John Ross calls Christopher an asshole. He then gets a text from Candy stating that JR wants the documents. John Ross is not having a good day.
